These days that's worth about $75. If you look around you can get it for cheaper in the U.S. (after rebate).

Now €53 is still cheaper than most places in Europe, but the price isn't exactly “incredible" either.

Yeah. I only post it for a comparison with the EU market, not the American one.

Either way, we'll have to live with it. If people are going to get upset about something, concentrate on a big issue; like the fact that the world's population is rapidly increasing while advances in technology are reducing the number of available jobs. This is not something worth losing sleep over. I am reserving judgement until I see the final product on my XBR2.
Agreed. My complaints are in context to the HT hobby and nothing more. In the grand scheme of life in general, this means absolutely nothing. HT is a luxury hobby and I feel blessed to have these issues.

+1. They changed something. Some people like it. Some people don't. It's too close to the release date to fix it. End of story. IMHO, the thread was a lot more interesting b4 all this green tint stuff...

You mean before the great schism. From here on out we are two seperate groups. Those who follow the green, and those who follow what they believe to be the creators original grading. May the gods of blu-ray decide who is just.

I will personally have to hold off any decision until I see some official reviews from this site (and a few other notable ones.) The various screenshots and video samples have given me something to ponder, but until I see what the reviewers feel about the retail sets, I cannot make a truly informed decision (and no, my purchasing decisions do not come solely from what certain reviewers say, but of the few that I read, they often give me a decent baseline to decide from). I may postpone my order until after release date if the reviews are not up by that time.

Because honestly, when it comes down to it, I don't know WHAT is right anymore (and I definitely don't have the memory to tell you how they looked when I watched them in the theater.) I am at the mercy of the reviewers and other posters.

(and please, while amusing, no more extreme color altered screencaps as a joke. Though funny, it's a bit annoying when going through a thread where people are FREAKING OUT about screencaps. Rather there be no confusion ).

I am holding off on buy this to until I see a review put if it is really this bad WB won't let them put up screenshots so they can't show us how bad it is like they did when the Batman Antology was released

Anyone else hear "web rumors" about a supposed 20 additional minutes to FOTR? I call bull, as I'm sure by now we would've heard something, but I'm curious as to how this rumor started.

I really like this screenshot from Return of the King:

I wish Jackson had given a couple additional minutes to develop Faramir and Eowyn's relationship in the EE Houses of Healing scene.

Dont get me wrong, in the realm of the HT hobby this is a very concerning issue for many of us going off these threads since many of us have been waiting for these EE blus for years and this sudden green tint change is puzzling to say the least. Until we know why this green tint is there, I feel it should be discussed. If we find out that PJ somehow approved this decision then it is what it is and it doesn't really matter who likes it or not and we just have to deal with it. IF however this happened for any other reason, I feel we have every right to *****, moan and everything else. We may still not get what we want, but we have to make our voice heard and try. After all, I am sure a big part of the reason why FOTG has all the detail back in it vs the TE was due to the huge outcry over the TEs on the net. If it comes out that this is not a PJ decision we cant just sit back and say "oh well".......we have to do what we can so at the very least it is corrected in the 3rd release or best case would be they offer a replacement program for these defective discs (if that is the case).

Just my thoughts though and I know others dont agree which is fine.

Uh oh. Just saw some screens of the new restoration of Wizard of Oz. What's the problem? You guessed it. The green strikes again!

Not even the sepia portions of the film were spared!

Is no film too sacred to escape the dreaded green?

This one is a fake meant as a joke. Also, if you read the last 30 pages or so, you'll see that nothing seems to indicate that the color has been much altered in the second and third films - only the first.

Lol, I hope you don't mean that screenshot that frogmort posted. That is a fake for laughs, and not what it actually looks like.

Why would people post stuff like that just to make people mad I don't see the joke about it

After further thought, it does indeed look bad. I canceled my pre-order and will wait for an ultimate edition that has the fixed grading for Fellowship EE, the rest of the EEs of the trilogy, and the original theatrical Blu-rays.
I was finally able to watch this and good God it looks just as green/bad as the screenshots! The question now remains in my mind if this is somehow intentional and was a PJ approved change. If this was changed for any other reason, this is BS. Even without an A/B comparison that whole intro scene leading up to the all blank screen (what should be white) looks wrong to my eyes. I am sure a lot of that has to do with now knowing better as far as the screen comparisons, but it certainly does not look any better on its own

Could you post a video of the now infamous mountain pass shot with the green snow/sky.........I am scared to see that one in motion as it must be just as bad as the screens going off the above linked video!

Sadly it's just another fad that they are going through.
