^ Very nice, would love to own that one.

Watched: Big Fish. Still one of my favourite Tim Burton films. The picture quality was very good especially considering it's an early MPEG-2 title. Danny Elfman's great score was fantastic in lossless.

Not much happening here for me atm. Ive decided to move back to Melbourne. Im very tired of flying around and looking at airports. Atleast Ill get to spend extra time with my BDs this way

Watched - X-Men 3, Meet the parents, Alien, Taxi Driver, Sanctum 3D(again), 300, BTTF 3, 127 hours and Megadeth RIP Live.

Also watched - X-Men: First Class. Pleasently surprised. I really enjoyed it. And the first 2 episodes of the new Teen Wolf series. Very different but good.

Finnished L.A. Noire. Top game.

Watched The Fighter. Great film. Christian Bale's performance is fantastic and i really enjoyed seeing Amy Adams play a gritty and realistic part. Not that she isn't always wonderful, it was just such a departure for her and damn she looked good in those Daisy Dukes.
Cheers,
Carcuss

Just watched 61* .

Now generally I like a decent baseball movie and felt this one a little more poignant as I'd watched Big Mac break this record live back in '98. Soundtrack (as expected) didn't give the new amp much of a workout and while the picture quality was generally overall pretty good, I felt the editor could have snipped off a minimum of 30 mins as the pacing was a bit slow. Couple of the performaces also I felt were phoned in and I was let down (once again) by some dodgy CGI.

Overall I'd give it a 6/10 i guess.

That does make it all the more impressive, I have now read up on the trivia about the making of the movie.

Don't get me wrong, its a fantastic looking film but I just could not get into it

Watched up a storm today:

Platoon - I have always liked this film, especially for Willem Dafoe's performance. The disc was OK. The picture quality has always been rough for this film. There were some areas of great improvement, other bits were average. Same goes for the audio mix. Of all the war films of the 80's it's always had the most "canned" mix and this is still the case. Having said that it was an improvement over the DVD mix and that's the important thing.

Chaos - This one surprised me. It looks like it's going to be your standard Jason Statham action film, has a story that aims a lot higher and ultimately ends up somewhere between the two. It doesn't quite nail the artier concept it's trying to sell but it did make it more interesting for trying. Solid disc all round too.

Layer Cake - A great film which still impresses. Sony's disc is quite good for an early release. Picture quality is strong though some black levels varied. I'm fairly sure a bit of that had to do with the source though as it seems to be something Matthew Vaughn has with his films (e.g. Kick Ass and it's often blue black levels). Sound quality was exceptional. The scene with Duran Duran's 'Ordinary World' was
