That's what I haven't really understood about this whole thing. The union represents the workers right? Yet the workers don't seem to like the prolonged labour negotiations and don't want to be on strike... so why doesn't the union just accept Canada' Post's proposal.

Personally I think Canada Post is right in this dispute, the mail system is becoming somewhat antiquated with the emphasis on online; whether it be email, paying bills online, facebook, etc; and cost reductions are necessary.
