The amount of negative press on the PS3 is staggering. Its sold more units in shorter time than the PS2 or the XBox 360. I do expect sales to slow down until the huge titles come out in March, but its ridiculous the things people are saying.

So I guess Sony isn't going bankrupt because of the PS3 after all?

There was about 100 units about a week and a half ago at my local Bestbuy and they sold out in about 2.5 days. This was in the middle of the week too, not including a weekend.

Don't believe the hype, these things are still hot and people still come in and ask for them. Remember too... this is tax season. Many people will be picking PS3s up with their tax return, especially since there are many titles dropping in March.

March almost feels like the real launch for this thing. At that point, you'll have the world involved and you'll start seeing some good software show up for the thing.

The other foot drops in March definitely.

I think that's why if people look at sites like http://www.eproductwars.com/vg/index.cfm that base their numbers on sales it can be misleading. Yesterday the NextGen wars had the PS3 ranked way, way below the WII and XBOX so I checked Amazon and the PS3 was not directly available from Amazon, so of course its sales rank will be low since there is nothing to sell, then today Amazon has it in stock and it shoots up to 2nd. What a shocker.

I'm from San Jose, CA and it's sold out at almost every store here for the most part. I made a couple calls to Sears yesterday hoping they had a PS3 so I can charge it to my Sears card but no luck. Plus Sears is purdy small too but hey it's still sold out. lol. Hopefully Sony has a good amount of PS3s for Europe. I guess it really depends on city too. But damn still no luck.

Default Just a thought...

Let's be generous to the other two systems and say the PS3 loses 50% of it's market. (in regard to the 120 million PS2's sold) This leaves 60 million PS3's on the market in about 6 years. This equals more systems sold than that of the Gamecube and Xbox combined in about the same amount of time. Of course the new M$ and Nintendo systems are a step up from their previous systems, but it's going to take a lot for Sony to lose 50% of it's PS market. I simply don't see 60 million PS2 fans not wanting a PS3, especially with better software coming out and an eventual price drop. I agree with you and think people are jumping the gun.

Games like Final Fantasy 13 and Versus 13, Devil May Cry 4, God Of War 3, Shadow Of Colossus 2, Ratchet and Clank series, Socom series, Gran Turismo Series, Tekken series, Metal Gear Solid series and more WILL keep the same PS2 fans coming back for more. If you love gaming, YOU CANNOT AVOID THESE AMAZING TITLES.

Speaking of that, is there any confirmation for a Shadow Of Colossus 2 yet?

I dont think there can be a shadow of the colossus 2. It was already made and its called Ico.
SOTC is a prequel....

This is all i've read, perhaps its just a temp name? But rest assured that SOTC did rather well and has a following, so a sequal will happen for sure.
