I have an HD-DVD player an am selling it to buy a PS3 for the BluRay features.

HD-DVD is great, but trying to find a few good movies isn't easy. Most of the best movies on HD-DVD are also on BlueRay, whereas tons of BluRay movies I see that I love aren't on HD-DVD and won't be.

The best looking HD-DVD I have seen is Hulk (2003), and King Kong is OK but it's way too long.

I have the Panasonic and the Toshiba players and both have been flawless for me. I've had the toshiba since 4/18 and the Panasonic since 11/06 and love both

I don't have HD DVD and don't want one. I prefer that everyone support one format and force the other to die. I researched both formats during 06 and concluded that Blu-ray is the way to go. At fist I thought that HD DVD would win because they had the early momentum and the first Samsung Blu-ray player was junk (at least until it was patched). But then I read an article from two senior managers from Sony and Pioneer and decided to wait and see what Sony and Pioneer released. The early reviews were much better and at the end of the year it seemed that Blu-ray got their act together. The movies keep getting better (PQ/SQ) and so at this point I am pleased with my decision. Everyone knows what happened at CES too.

My feeling is that as long as Disney remains Blu-ray only and the players and movies keep improving then it will be game over for HD DVD. After all, a very large consumer base for home movie products are soccer moms and they all want Disney titles. Also Disney = Apple now (in a way) and so Steve Jobs will try his best to keep Disney Blu. Is this becomming a Microsoft - Apple war?

As early adopters we are all taking a chance and are paying a premium to enjoy the next generation technology today. Eventually we will be repurchasing our favorite titles as better quality versions are released like we do/did with DVD. I have a couple copies of all of my favorite movies in SD because of the constant improvement in technology. So if HD DVD ends up losing the war then those early adopters can repurchase their HD DVD titles in Blu-ray like we all do/did with SD movies. At the end of the day we all win with this awesome technology.

I just want this silly war to end already.
