I voted Yes in the poll, although I always feel that the lossless/lossy issue matters less on older films. For films released from 1990 onwards, I would definitely want a lossless track, but for earlier films it probably doesn't make so much difference (although there are occasional exceptions such as Apocalypse Now). And for films dating from the 60's or earlier, frankly it doesn't worry me at all. Would there really have been an audible difference if Warner had provided a lossless track for films such as Bonnie And Clyde, Cool Hand Luke or The Wild Bunch?

Even though Face/Off was DTS 6.1, the audio was still phenomenal. Face/Off sounded great.

I agree! Old movies that were originally recorded in mono theatrically, shouldn't be remixed into multi-channel sound HD sound on blu-ray because, the soundtrack will sound too artificial.

Clearly as you stated, there is no need to remix a mono soundtrack into a 6 channel track. But you would prefer a (lossless) LPCM 1.0 track to a (lossy) DD 1.0 track , I would.

Most definitely. There are several lossy mono tracks out there that I wish would have been done in lossless. Cool Hand Luke, The African Queen, and A Christmas Story are just a few.

Are all those titles DD 1.0! . Whats that, 192kbps. A LPCM 1.0 track would produce 768kbps at 48KHz/16-bit
