In the past, when either FS or BB has a big price drop, the other usually follows suit. I've always assumed that this was because both are owned by Best Buy so if BB is drops the price and you PM at FS to get it for $2 or whatnot, Best Buy Corp. is still selling the product for lower than the sale price.

Anyways, I predict FS matching all of BB's prices, likely as soon as the 24th hits, so if you wanna PM, be quick about it! I'm probably going tomorrow.
Oh, I'm going tomorrow too, but this way, when they open, they'll have it aside for me before people figure out what's going on =P -- and I'll bring my Best Buy confirmation with me for all the prices being $4.99, and since they'll be in stock for me, they wont need to call and verify =P BB and FS have sales after each other by a week or at least they used to. Problem is, I start work when they open and I can be there anywhere from 6-12 hours =P aye

Attempted a PM today, apparently BB has put a limit (2 per household) on the $4.99 titles, meaning FS won't match.

Ended up picking the titles I wanted at WM, as well as Lost in Space for $5. BTTF Trilogy and Saving Private Ryan for $15.

FS matched for me on The Fugitive and Eraser - didn't have Collateral Damage, so I just got that at Best Buy.

D'oh! Lucky!

I printed out the webpages at about 3:30, there were 2 Fugitives in stock online and no limit. When FS checked at 4:00, they were out of stock and there was a limit.

Guess I was just a bit too late then... but I'm really not complaining about getting them for $5 either

EDIT: Is your copy of The Fugitive a VC-1 encode? The review on this site lists it as an MPEG-2 transfer and has docked it major video quality points, my copy is VC-1 and looks great! Much better than the screenshots posted with the review... a secret remaster maybe?

Walmart has all those titles for $5 anyway, if you can't score them at BB/FS.

and the VC-1 was a silent replacement I guess from what I've read. But, I have no way to check other than hearsay on the cover.

The bottom of my back goes: BR Logo, SDH, Special Not Rated, PG-13
I guess from what they've said the VC-1 is: BR Logo, Special, SDH, PG-13

I PMed for The Fugitive at FS and got the VC-1 version. I am quite pleased.
I checked it in my PS3, not too sure how else you would have been able to tell though.

I'd personally take a picture with my phone and show it to them, then tell em just to call. I had em PM by printing out an online price, which WM doesn't honor anyway =P James and the Giant Peach for $12 er something =P

My local Best Buy always calls to verify the price when you are wanting to PM, even if you bring a flyer with you. I know, odd. :whimsical:

Best Buy has updated their site with the "Sizzlin' Summer" titles

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/category...6a33c2584ben01

Some nice prices

Couple more $4.99 titles than what was in the flyer

LA Confidential for $7.99 (all other $7.99 titles are the same as FS)

Gran Torino for $9.99

Mpeg2, so it's going back to FS. $2.26 or not, I'll pay the extra for the better transfer, albeit lower audio bitrate.
