I don't know how things are in the US, but in Europe (2005 and early 2006)they were selling tons of TVs WITH HDMI that did not decode HDCP. I work at a PayTV Channel, and our phone supporters told countless stories of customers who couldn't watch our program because their TV was advertised as HD-Ready but it wasn't. I'm not saying it shouldn't work, that's just what I observed.
