But I was told, BluRay unlike DVD structure doesnt allow for a virtual segment that refers to different points of the main video track which means they need to add a second video segment just for "all songs" - this takes up space and hurts the overall quality of the Bluray. And, thats the reason most Desi blurays dont include the "Play all" feature. sucks! |

@Shahran, can you bring Kandukondain Kandukondain with the Telugu Audio Track, because for us Telugu People we got Kandukondain Kandukondain (In Telugu Priyuralu Pilichindi) with really bad quality, and lots of cuts to the movie, and many cuts on the film with spots everywhere?

Ayngaran is UK based company, it has to get certified by BBFC. As Mr.Sunny had told that "Play songs" is considered as a title, hence to reduce the cost ayn had stopped play songs menu in dvd too.

They don't have to include that option for all movies. At least for few movies they can include that. We already pay a premium for Tamil blu-rays, it would not hurt to pay little bit more.
I guess we will just have to wait for Best Songs of 2011 blu-ray next year. |

Hi Sunny, Will you please let me know, if the old films are re- released in Blu-ray Discs, will they have the same effects as of the new films actually shooted in high definition ?

@simplesam:
Old movies shot on 35mm film theoretically have very high resolution. Hollywood studios like Warner Bros make digital masters for some their "prestigious" older films at very high resolutions like 4k and now 8K, so as to capture all the details of the original negative. What matters is what condition the original negatives/prints are in, and how much effort and time is given to making a good digital master from them. |

No it won't. Majority of Old Indian films are badly damaged. They won't "pop" with sharpness the way new films do. A major restoration is needed - which won't happen as no-one in India wants to invest.

Dubbing is old school and pointless. Performances don't come across well, and lip sych is very bad. |

I am disappointed there is no Telugu track. The dubbed version Rangam was a big hit in Andhra also and i rather watch the bluray than the dvd. I dont speak taamil so i was looking forward to the Bluray which will have the telugu dub version.

I wonder why Ayngaran fails to see the market gains they could have by just adding another audio track?? Unless ofcourse its against their contract? Its not like they havent done that before - examples: Eenadu BluRay, Bombay DVD. |

Sunny said the dub is not that good, well i disagree b/c i see lot of dubbed films and i have no problem with them. Rangam was a big hit. i dont how adding a telugu track will hurt the business, it can only help |
