Not at all. Just saying there is no need for people to start attacking other people, either on here, or a reviewer just because you are not happy with the result.
I personally don't know what i will think of the set when i get it, but either way, I will not call for someone's head over it. |

Once again, it's still a vague rubber stamp. We already knew the filmmakers added new color grading and approved the disc, Bill said that a week ago. Now we know WB is not going to change anything. I still don't know whether the green tint was added specifically or is just there for some reason, like the DP-approved jaggies on the Braveheart disc. |

Bill Hunt is very trust worthy. He wouldn't report on it of it wasn't fact. Nearly every major review site says these discs look great. I have no doubt that they do. But this statement should end all the speculation. If your looking for a disc exchange, you won't be getting one. |

I'm sorry to say, It's time to move from the denial stage to the acceptance stage. Bill Hunt is as legit as people come. He got us answers about Gladiator. When he did people loved him, but now he gets an answer people didn't want to hear and now he isn't credible. People amaze me sometimes.

This is probably in the wrong spot, but has anyone received any shipping confirmations yet from Borders? I know a bunch of people pre-ordered it a month or so ago with the 50% off coupon and the free FedEx 2 day shipping. They charged my card last Monday (6/20), leading me to believe they would be shipping early, but nothing yet, and the order status on Borders.com still reads "Pre-Ordered." Anyone have any news?

Take a look at this:
http://www.zonadvd.com/imagenes/arti...unidadex7.html Green tint or no, the extended version looks MILES better than the regular version (top picture). In that scene of the regular version, everything is glowing orange the extended looks much more real. And it may be the same with the other shots, like the boat shot someone quoted a few pages back, the regular looks more vivid, but that may not be natural. The extended version looks much more natural, imo. I don't see any green tint whatsoever in those shots, it just looks that way because the original is bright friggin orange. After reading some of the stuff here, I was worried, but after seeing these shots, I'm just as pumped to get my extended blu-rays tommorow as when I first heard of them. I was really holding out hope that they'd acknowledge the problem after the release date, and issue replacement discs. As someone posted a while back, that would be the cheapest way to deal with the issue. However, if this statement is really to be taken as the official response to the green tint, it appears they've decided NOT to deal with the issue, but rather to dig in their heels and go into full denial mode.
Well, I guess I won't be buying LotR extended editions on blu-ray after all. Bummer...I'd been waiting a long time for these. My only hopes now are either that this is just a way to keep sales solid tomorrow, and they'll announce a reissue in the next month or so, or to wait for the inevitable super-duper ultimate five movie extended edition set, and hope that they've been persuaded to remove the tint by then. I don't care (and have never cared) if it's intentional. I don't particularly care that "it's not that bad" (and I'm certainly not willing to spend $70 just to find out for myself!). After all this, I'll never "unsee" this tint in the movie. So I'll make do with the TE blu-ray and the EE DVDs I already have, where the snow is white, not green (albeit really sharp and crisp green). Maybe I'll pick up TT and RotK when they're released separately. Such a shame: FotR is my favorite movie of the trilogy; it's the one I most wanted to see in glorious high definition. I envy those who can get past this horrible tint mistake. |
