Thats what I was thinking.

Is there a reason why pretty much none of David Lynch's films are on Blu-ray in the US? Is it because the studios don't think there will be enough demand for them? I'd really like to have Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Mullholland Drive, and Twin Peaks on Blu-ray some day.

His films have been more successful overseas for the most part.

David Lynch just tweeted this:
These last couple of days I've been timing & color correcting deleted scenes from Blue Velvet. It's a beautiful trip down memory lane.

I CANNOT wait for this. My favorite film ever, and the deleted scenes thought to be lost are re-discovered. It's a great time to be a Blue Velvet fan.

This sounds good. It would be great if they could option seamless branching on the deleted scenes so you could see how they'd fit within the context of the film rather than just having them separate which because of grading is obviously what is going to happen. I know opposite opinion of this has been posted and yes a four hour version might not be worth it but it would be nice to have the option there even if it only ends up getting watched once.

The weather is close at present.

I was wondering whether a 25th Anniversary Edition would be arriving on Blu-ray and that tweet by Lynch himself would appear to suggest that such a release is coming soon! The DVD I own has horrendous picture and sound, so experiencing it in high definition will be grand.

Day One purchase for me. One of my all-time favorite films, and now with deleted scenes, too.

Great news! The only way this news could be any better would be if he was working with Criterion for a release in the collection.

But I will take BV in HD any way I can get it. (One of the great films of the last 50 years and the best film of the 1980's)

I've always wanted to see the 4 hour version, so I'm with you. So excited. And if it's Criterion...

I would be up for a theatrical version and original cut. I would love to see it in it's four hour edit.

bump...for the October 5th (new) release date.

I am hoping this comes in steelbook packaging shaped like a Pabst Blue Ribbon Can.

oops...sorry French release....thought this thread was in the International France forum.
