Now that we know the sale will be starting July 12th, will there be any coupons we can stack onto the 50% off + 10% member discount in store? I REALLY hope the $8 off $40 will work.

I loved watching that game, but I have no idea what they were doing or what the rules were - post a link if you find out
Pale Flower is a fantastic film! I'm now waiting for the Nikkatsu Noir boxset of DVDs to arrive. I think I'll probably grab that Eureka blu-ray of Pigs & Battleships from the UK as well.

Yes and yes. I have not tried to use the 10% code a second time, but according to the DVD Talk website:

"Note: The following coupons posted below deduct a percentage off each eligible item and can be used multiple times

Non-Members (Anyone can use)
Save 10% off your entire order ONLINE, enter coupon code H3U4M7L at checkout. The 10% discount will be applied to all eligible items in your cart. Pre-orders are not eligible with this offer. This coupon is valid from June 21, 2011 to July 6, 2011 at 2:59 a.m. Eastern Time."

Canada Cheaper than 50%

When the 50% Sale starts Discs will be generally $19.99, half of $39.99, but with the buy 2 get 1 sale there are a number of Criterion blu-rays that if you order 3 at a time (6 still only gets you 1 free)they will only cost you $18.67 each.

They are:
Black Moon
Diabolique
Kiss Me Deadly
People on Sunday
Solaris
The Great Dictator
Zazie Dans Le Metro
Pick any three or two orders of three.
Unfortunately Canadians have to pay shipping

Put in an order for Kiss Me Deadly, The Great Dictator, and Solaris, but unfortunately they have an expected ship date of July 25th. At the time the BN website said all were in stock, but apparently Kiss Me Deadly is holding things up. Unfortunately, I imagine this is only the beginning of what will be a total shipping pain during the sale.

On a side note, has anyone ever seen Fat Girl in one of the BN stores? It is the only title I have never seen in store, and none of the five stores within an hour radius have it in stock.

-Sweetie
-Fear and Loathing
-Smiles of a Summer Night
-Something Wild
-Diabolique
-Pale Flower
-Solaris
-Great Dictator
-Insignificance
-Kiss Me Deadly
-People on Sunday

Pierrot Le Fou at $31.99 is also a consideration. I wouldn't count on seeing too many in stores and they're showing 1-2 week wait online.

I ordered one this afternoon (along with Solaris and Diabolique) and I have a feeling I'm going to be glad I didn't wait.

I am hoping that Beauty & The Beast will be available as part of the 50% sale. I want Army of Shadows and Paths of Glory.

Make sure if you get Yojimbo, you get it in the double set with Sanjuro - they're both great.

Decided Ill be buying Solaris, Seven Samurai, and Pierrot Le Fou (because its out of print, there is others I want more, but I can always wait) but I was wondering if the buy two get two free would still be going on? Probably not, but one could hope, right?

You have chosen ... wisely!

High and Low might be my favorite Kurosawa. As a huge fan, that says a lot! I've ordered the blu ray from deepdiscount, but they still haven't shipped it

Why is that? It's not like they're waiting for new copies since the film is OOP.

No idea, actually. They sent me a 'shipping soon' mail that said the entire order would be shipping tomorrow. I didn't notice while placing the order if the status was already 1-2 weeks or if that changed later.

I figure worst case they'll send me Solaris and Diabolique for $27.99 + tax and cancel Pierrot Le Fou sometime down the road.

If that B2G1 sale is still going on when the 50% sale happens I am going to buy like 20 movies, no joke.

I'm probably gonna get those:

-Diabolique
-Kiss Me Deadly
-Solaris
-Beauty and the Beast
-High & Low
-Leon Morin Priest
-Seven Samurai
-The Leopard
-The Great Dictator
-House
-Videodrome
-Bigger Than Life
-Days of Heaven
-Playtime
-8 1/2
-The Magician
-Close Up
-Chungking Express (which is out of stock now...)

and the re-release 3-Disc DVD set of BRAZIL

The international shipping is still the same method, isn't it? Last time it took 3 months to deliver my orders...

It won't be. The sales do not overlap.

Pierrot le Fou was 34.79 in my order, before B&N stated its the "free" film in my set. I also got 10% off Gimme Shelter and Night of the Hunter. Since I'm Canadian, I had to pay about 10 bucks shipping and a small bit of tax. My order came to 85.07. I divided by 3 and got 28.36 for each title. Sure I paid a bit more, but as far as I know, Pierrot le Fou is going to ship tomorrow, according to B&N. I did my order on Monday. Everyone seems to want this title too. I'll still get some during the 50% off sale, but later on.

Diabolique is a great choice, it was a blind buy for me and I loved it.

It seems that people are forgetting that since the last sale you can't use any coupon when ordering online. Last sale I still used the promotion links but those are also long gone now.
