Default Indy 4 Being Prepped for Blu-ray!

Quote:
Another interesting tidbit of information is about the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. As we all know, Paramount's deal does not cover Steven Spielberg films, and so Indy 4 is being prepped for Blu-ray Disc for release sometime late this year. Apparently, Paramount is reluctant to pony up the additional cost for the disc to be certified, so it may take George Lucas to personally step in and make it happen. Be sure to let Paramount know we want this!

Does this mean we may get the Indy trilogy on BD in May?

It looks like Indy 4 is a go for blu, but you may have to wait on the other three movies because you don't know what is going on with the studios right now, but it would make sense to release them with the new one as well.

All of these films are classics and I am sure the fourth installment will be just as memorable. To have this collection on Blu would be amazing and sit right up there with the LOTR Trilogy as well as Star Wars.

Cool...let's just hope the film is much better than those Star Wars atrocities Lucas shat out between '99 & '05.

Great to see confirmation, though I never had any doubt Indy 4 would be on Blu this Fall.

The real question is whether we get the first three with it...I hope so because Raiders of the Lost Ark is my favorite movie of all time.

No chance of a boxset of all 4 in time for next Christmas Wicky??
I know you probably don't "know", but have you heard anything?

I'm not sure what Wicky is saying. I *think* he means the first three will be released with the 4th movie (i.e. follow the same release timing). But it coud mean, literally, they will "follow" the release of Indy 4, meaning that they will be released at a different date.

Maybe Wicky can clarify...

No, it's Universal and not even on HD DVD. But what does that have to do with Indiana Jones?

It's great that it will be released on Blu, but how come no one else is complaining about Paramount being cheap and passing on THX certification?

I expect nothing less than Paramount being cheap and lacking vision. Their track record is horrid with this kind of stuff.

Thankfully, Lucasfilm and Steve Spielberg will make sure the release of Indiana Jones is up to snuff.

No, but I do believe we will get an Indy boxset at the end of this year when Indy 4 hits home video.

So,..

The movie not in theaters yet and its been prepped for Blu Ray?

Is this the first right to video blu ray release? If so,... that doesn't sound too good.
