Honestly, this is one of my most anticipated movies of next year. And you really need to get it on it and watch the original and the Work Print of 3.

I watched Alien last night, still found it boring. I have never liked Sigourney though so her presence doesn't help. For me that's like saying oh you don't like Jason Statham? Well it's time a no talent marathon and it's mandatory!

Well, especially the X-Men series which seems to change or retcon it's continutiy left and right. I mean honestly, it changes all the times. If the comics aren't always one hundred percent inline with their own history, how can the movies possibly be?

And I'm not saying you shouldn't be mad for gutting a book, I'm just saying it's the little things that no one should really be upset about that really gets me. The Star Trek '09 thing for me is a huge example of that.

Hey, I like no talent marathons! They make me feel better about myself.

I enjoy the first three Alien films quite a bit. I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy this one though, especailly cause Fassbender is in it. If he's nearly as good in this as he was in First Class, I'm going to be stoked.

Alien boring??
to me it is one of the holy trinity of extraterrestrial themed science fiction films along with 2001 and Close Encounters. in my eyes i think those three are untouchable. by that i dont mean my personal favorites, otherwise The Thing would be in there, but i feel that those are the three BEST films of the genre.

As far as alien movies go, outside of the Predator films I don't particularly care for any of them.

I've watched all of the Alien films and they just never left much of an impression on me. I did like Aliens, but i've still never gone as far as to own it. I've probably seen every invasion or alien movie that you can name and the only ones I ever liked were the Predators. They were just a different breed, it was cool to me to see these creatures with honor and intelligence. There was a certain integrity to their battles they didn't just shoot little midget aliens onto their opponents faces and bust out of their chests. They assessed threats and passed on those who didn't pose any. The Aliens just kind of ran around hectically killing anything and everything for no real reason. Even as a little kid I just enjoyed the sophistication of the Predators and I used to watch them over and over.

I agree with you about the Predator, but I am also a big fan of the Alien franchise as well. Yes, the Aliens kill everything and anyone without remorse. That is part of who they are. The whole chest burster idea is great! What could be more horrorfying than being raped by an unknown life form, and having a parasite grow inside you. Then burst out your chest, killing you.

I guess being mouth raped by an alien just ain't my thing...but hey, different strokes for different folks.

This chimes with what an actor friend of mine was telling me.

He's going to Iceland in the next couple of weeks to play "an alien", as he put it. He's not that into the series so he didn't have much useful info, except that he's been body-cast from the waist-up (?!). And whilst he's of average height, he said another actor was present who was about 7ft tall and he was undergoing a full body-cast.

Fairly meagre pickings there. But perhaps the waist-up cast hints at someone in a process of metamorphosis, cocoon-style? He hadn't been sent a script, just a copy of the synopsis we've all seen.

7 foot? What are they throwing another Predator into this movie.

I would NOT be saying any of that. If your friend is caught, he'll be fired and blacklisted. Telling your friends details like that is a STUPID move.

Sorry but grow-the-****-up. This isn't National Security we're talking about. I already told you he didn't get the screenplay, just the synopsis. What, you think they fire and blacklist people just for talking about the job they're doing?

I know what information would compromise a friend's job or not. I have what we in the business call "perspective". But thanks for the advice anyhow and for putting STUPID in capital letters, which is pretty insulting.

I bet you wish you were in the business so you could get perspective....

I cannot believe you used capital letters...you might as well just have physically slapped his grandmother in the face, IN THE FACE!!!

Gamma, you're the one talking about people getting fired and blacklisted, and adopting this teacherish tone to tell me off about it. I really think, in this case, you're the one that needs to calm down.

Anyway, I did find what you wrote kind-of funny, but I guess that didn't come across in my reply. But you've got to know that it's provocative to put things the way you did, right?

It was STUPID of you to put STUPID in caps, especially after making such a STUPID post yourself.

See? Annoying, isn't it?
