I believe if Avatar 3D was sold by itself, it would most likely increase 3D sales.

the current 3D bundled version isn't even the director's extended cut (which is much better than the theatrical). be patient... an official 3D release is surely in the works.

I already got the "exclusive" earlier this week but I'm definitely getting the 3d blu ray pack when it comes out hopefully next year.

I agree, the longer version, with about an extra 18 minutes, is the best and the only version I watch.
My 3D ready television will be arriving late next week and will get the items to make it 3D with income tax next year. Hope by that time a general release of this will have been announced.

I think that I will keep my exclusive copy instead of buying a new one, but you never know.

I bought a new Panasonic 3D blu ray player and got the mail in for Avatar 3D. I immediately put it on Ebay as I don't have a 3D TV (yet). They are selling for between $70-110, so I should be able to recoup a good chunk of the blu ray player cost (which was around $160).

I may eventually buy Avatar 3D when it goes mainstream and I can get it for $15.
