Sweet, now here's to hoping we get Band of Brothers, if HBO does have the rights to it. Come on HBO, release Entourage on Blu!

I bet Paramount's comes rather soon. As Bill said, contractual obligations will hold Uni a little longer, but by that time all details will be smoothed out.

I suspect that Paramount especially wants to be able to announce a few actual titles when they announce their Blu-ray support, and it takes time to get all that ready.
Only seems to be his guess, but why do I smell a Transformers anouncement in the air with that sooner than later Blu-Ray support coming up ?

Band of Brothers would be it. Not much for Sopranos. I think the box sets are overpriced. However, I would spend an arm and a leg for band of brothers on Blu

PAramount could happen any day...WOW. Is this incredible or what? It is funny that Bill referred to drinking coffee in his post. We know a "person" that has been in touch with Bill

What they both need to do to end this thing effectively is to announce exclusivity. Do not give the patient the chance to breathe. Anything less and the door will always be open, even if just a little, for a little while longer. They need to go exclusive from the start.

They'll have to, because in spite of the kool aid that Toshiba wants people to drink, I doubt the big retailers are going to be carrying HD DVD for much longer regardless.

It makes sense for Paramount to announce sooner then Uni. They already had a blu plan in place originally, they just need to dust off the mothballs and update it. Plus, old stock can be used now.

It's obvious that Warner just didn't make this decision last min. Everyone thinks you can just snap your fingers and announce a decision like this without having a project management team in place.

Uni will take the longest to figure it out. They are starting from scratch.
