Default Blu-ray gets too RED!

Evening all.

I just watched "kingdom of heaven - directors cut" and I have to say it BLEW me away. I have just clocked my first 100 hours on my panasonic 50 inch 1080P set and can now enjoy all the details with the correct settings.

However - with the large screen and extremely high def. picture I begin to think im getting more than I bargained for, I mean - the DC edition of this movie is VERY bloody/gory - I belive I saw some fingers getting cut off and where one of the Lords get his throat cut my girlfriend hide behind a pillow and even I got a strange taste in my mouth when a guy is getting shot thru the eye with a crossbow

Have you experinced anything like this or am I getting soft? I cant picture myselv enjoying the opening beach scene from "Saving Private Ryan" in HD glory

(im sorry for my english - it's not my native launguage)

I think the PQ is so good that in a movie such as Troy, I could tell the blood was very fake - it is NOT as viscous as water and not as red as kool-aid!

Haha - special effects need to be more realistic now that for Blu.

Oh, PS - Saladin cutting Reynald's neck and then beheading him is almost entirely historical truth. The whole passing of ice thing, too.

the movie is gory already... whether or not it's released in HD. The same cut of Apocalypto was released for both the SD-DVD and Blu, and they were both bloody. But yeah, the extremely high PQ of Blu has some effect on how we perceive the movie. It some cases, the flaws of filming are visible, in others, it gets to realistic.

the first scene where they take out the organs of the hog was quite disturbing...and amazing!

You're experiencing storytelling in high def, like in a great focused theater!

Cinema is virtual reality if properly presented
