If British Torchwood fans are wise, they'll tune in even if they've already downloaded. Of course "smart" isn't always the way of things. I've seen plenty of people here complain that they should count Torrenting because their favorite show is cancelled or in danger of being cancelled.

It would be great if they succeeded enough with Torchwood to do more adult sci-fi.
Yeah I'm happy it's on Starz and like you said I also don't feel HBO or Showtime would have been a good fit either I just hope Starz understands this is a different genre that what Starz subscribers are used to and already a show into it's 4th season into consideration.

Yeah I'm hoping UK fans are smart and watch it live even if they have downloaded it and seen it already. I'm thinking they will though as it's a small cult show with really caring fans that will try anything to get another season. I just hope there isn't to many hard core fans that think they will teach the BBC a lesson by downloading it and not watching it live.

I love Torchwood but I don't have Starz so I had to watch it online. I really want to see it because I would love to see it do good but with no way of tuning in I won't be contributing to the ratings. I will be buying all of the seasons on Blu Ray next month as that is the best I can do to do my part.

By The Way not going to spoil anything but they already did reveal what happens to Jack in Doctor Who Season 3 Last of the Time Lords so I doubt there is going to be anything here that will alter that much.

RTD has confirmed that Jack is not
[Show spoiler]the face of boe and it was just something that he added to make fans talk. It has no bearing or weight in Jacks future and anything can happen to Jack.

Well considering I don't read interviews nor do I take them as proof of anything so until they show something in universe that is all I have to go by. I don't follow the other fiction so unless they mention something in a magazine, radio or whatever else they have I will continue to assume that it is the way it is because anything said out side of the universe especially in interviews I can't give much weight to. Has he been entirely straight in the past or does he have a history of misleading people? That would also have to be a factor.

RTD LOVES to mess with fans.

The first episode is free on Demand. Love it. Missed Captain Jack.

Just watched the first episode and liked it. Never having seen an episode of Torchwood before, I'm guessing it was like a British X-Files, but with an immortal?

Considering it came from RTD himself I would count it as fact and he does have a history of adding things that make fans talk but he never means for them to be taken as a new Whoniverse rule like giving the Doctor 500 something regenerations. He did that as a joke to get fans talking and didn't do it to change the 13 regeneration rule. Normally I agree about interviews but when it comes from the showrunner himself you can pretty much count it as fact.

Plus it wasn't confirmed in the show that he was
[Show spoiler]the face of boe it was just joked about so either way it can't be taken as fact. But as RTD himself said it was just to get fans talking and is in no way a part of Jacks future and anything can still happen.

I've heard discussion that even the 13 regeneration thing is not hard and fast per a quote in the same episode establishing it to the effect that 13 was the rule, but the Doctor had already regenerated 17 times or something to that effect...
