How is the best way to dismantle the steelbook shell, without damaging it?

I started customizing mine about 2 weeks ago and simply got addicted.

Too bad I don't have many steelbooks and some of mine already got inside artwork in them, but I changed some of these anyway just because although the artworks were there they just weren't good enough for me.

Remove front and back plates and then place spine area in hot soapy water. Then use a flat object (old credit card) and slide between metal spine and plastic frame. Gently does it, you don't wanna be bending the metal. If the sticky tape gets damaged, remove it and replace with new double sided tape..

So as promised, I took some pics when doing my last spine work, and here they are ..



After you have cutted the glue using the card (as thin as possible), you will have some glue left on the plastic spine and on the metal piece like this :



Then use your magic finger ... and remove most of the glue on the metal piece, and completely remove the glue on the plastic part like that :



... and to perfectly clean the plastic, you can use some alcohool ... at the end it must be perfectly translucid as shown on the following picture :



Then put the glue on the plastic part .. and spread it using your magic finger again (you must keep the plastic part as translucid as possible) ... and put your artwork ..



Then add some glue on the back of the artwork and on the back of the metal piece, and put it on the spine. To finish the job, put the Steel on his spine on a table and leave it like that for 10-15 minutes .



and here is the result :

Check this picture gallery Shane
Think it is self explaining. Use some cleaning solvent to remove the adhesive residue. It is really easy, trust me.
I tested one with a damaged Steelbook and did 3 yesterday within one hour about.
