I agree. but let me get this straight, this is basically the same game as the initial one with even more features and its $45 less??

Apparently so, yes.

The retail price for NBA Jam was never $60, it was $50, and it can now be found for $30. By the time this comes out via DDD the retail version should cost even less for those who cannot or do not like to buy digital versions of games.

Even at $50, its still like a kick in the nads to anyone who originally paid $50. to me anyway.........

So do you get mad when games become Greatest Hits titles? Game depreciate in value, sometimes rapidly. It's been almost a year since the game came out, so there is no sense in being made over that fact that you paid full price for a game and go to play it a year in advance. This has always been the trend, especially for sports games that are released every year.

But thats the same exact game though, thats expected. this however is an enhanced version. so someone who bought the original would still have to purchase the new game to get the new features. even if they trade in he original for the new they would still probably end up paying more than $15 in the end. meanwhile someone like me(who didnt buy the initial one) will only pay $15.....

Just like people get angry at Capcom who is notorious for releasing a regular, then super, then super duper delux version of the same game. forcing you to keep buying the same game 40 times. it pisses people off.....they should just release the game and have DLC......

That's just how things go. If they released it as DLC then it would still most likely cost $15. Capcom also made the Arcade Edition DLC for SSF4 $15, and gave people options if they already owned SSF4 or wanted to buy the retail release. No one if forcing you or anyone else to buy anything, if you think the added content is worth it then you will buy it, if not then you won't. Either way you can still play the game that you have been enjoying for almost a year now. People who want something first always pay more. If you're going to get mad at game publishers for doing this then get made at the console makers too for selling people (sometimes) better versions of the consoles you've owned for years for less to new buyers.

I think the problem with NBA Jam originally was that it was supposed to be an extra, not a full-fledged game. Charging people full price for it in spite of that was bad enough, but then this DLC release just rubs salt in the wounds.

I never quibble about buying my games new (which I always do), but sometimes the value proposition just isn't there, and NBA Jam was one of the few titles I decided to pass by because it didn't seem like it was worth the money (and now I'm glad I did).

This was the very reason why I declined purchasing the retail copy, i.e. could not justify the asking price for, what is essentially, bonus content that would have been included with the release of NBA Live (if it was released, and never was thankfully). This should have been a PSN title from the get-go, and any DLC made available at a future date would have been an easier pill for gamers to swallow.

I agree that it should not have been released for $50, and I also didn't buy it because of this (I have been waiting for it to drop to $20, but now since this game is coming out soon I will just skip it altogether). Still, the people that paid full price for it and want to complain now only have themselves to blame. They can't expect EA to make the same mistake twice just because they paid for it the first time. I for one am glad that they seen the error with the last release and decided to fix it with this one.
