The disclaimer was a bummer because it did ruin it a bit (not really lol) but I guess I understand what people are saying... but c'mon for a network like AMC to show that there is no way they couldn't disclaimer it. I'm sure the crew talked to AMC about that and they said we need to put a disclaimer there and they agreed to it. I would much rather have that much of an intense scene with a warning then a watered down scene.

Was this the first in-episode disclaimer? I didn't watch season 1/2 on TV, and I don't remember (?) any for season 3 but I could be very wrong lol

Excellent episode from start to finish! This show just doesn't take the easy way out, does it? Riveting and gutsy way of dealing with the immediate repercussions of Jesse's deed. And I dare say brutal, just so brutal. I, too, suspected Gus might kill Victor, but the gruesomeness of it left me completely stunned. And of course I loved the parallel to the disposing of Emilio's body in season one.

Walt's behavior was just pitiful. It would have been easier to make him look sympathetic by emphasizing that he did what he did to save his life, instead we see his true pathetic self shine through. It almost seemed like he got a kick out of ridiculing Victor while, unlike Jesse, being completely oblivious of the gravity of the situation. And so the ending was perfectly fitting. Walking down the street in his ridiculous clothes for everybody to see. Walk of shame is the first thing that came to mind.

Can't wait for next week's episode!

Yes you are. I thinks that's a bit of a stretch. I think he was upset because all their planning was sabotaged by people they wanted dead.

With the title of the episode and the foreshadowing, I'm sure most people knew there was some cutting on the horizon.

But I was not prepared for the
[Show spoiler]most graphic, lingering throat cut I've ever seen on film.

Obviously seems like you're the odd man out here, everybody else appears to have loved it. I don't feel at all like you did, but aren't you also one of the guys that hated "Fly" last season too? I felt like this episode perfectly established were everybody stands, Jesse summed it up perfectly while eating his pancakes. I'm not suddenly going to say 'hey that was a brilliant argument, you're right it did suck' lol.

'Breaking Bad' Breaks Ratings Records in Season Four Premiere

Quote:
Breaking Bad returned to series highs of 2.6 million viewers and 1.5 million adults 18-49 (~a 1.1 national adults 18-49 rating) . That’s up 30% in total viewers from last year’s premiere which scored just under 2 million and up around 22% with adults 18-49. An impressive feat for a series in its fourth season. The wisdom of the crowds got it right again with nearly 70% predicting series high ratings.

Well-deserved for continued greatness. Realistically one can't expect it to stay that high, though. Still, at least it finally broke the 2 million viewers and the 1.0 rating mark.

Most anticipated season premier ever for me, and I wasn't disappointed. Also, the most gruesome OJ Simpson scene ever. Not everyone will like this show, but for those that don't like it, I'm interested in hearing what is good in their opinion.

They do a little recap in the beginning. You'll be fine.

Like literally I barley remember the characters and the back story. Which.. SUCKS, since this is my favorite show. D:

But if like I saw the preview and everything came back into my memory that would be cool, I hope it does.

Great season opener. Man, Gus
[Show spoiler]is a freakin' terminator.

I really love how this show is filmed. Some little touches:

[Show spoiler]The shot of the basketball hoop in the foreground as Skylar parks Walt's car in the cul de sac in the background.

The transition from the mopping up of the blood to the fries and ketchup.

The racing lines of blood towards the drain.

The intensity of the scene being heightened by Gus' entrance to the meth lab with the shot underneath the walkway and then down the spiral staircase.

All the amazing drama aside, the little accents this show gives to set the scene or mood really set apart from your average tv show. Great stuff.

You don't think Walt had to grab something from Gus's laundry to wear in public due to his clothes being soaked in blood ? Maybe...?
I thought it was excellent attention to details(as usual).

Yeah, obviously that or they got them elsewhere. Notice that they both wore the same shirt, and that Walt's still had a "Large" sticker on it? Another little detail that would suggest they were new.

I didn't mean to suggest that they were his own clothes, if that's what you meant.

Caught that right off the bat. Loved it.

People haven't mentioned the score/music in the episode. I thought it was FANTASTIC. Unlike anything you've ever heard in BrBa before. Combined with the tense atmosphere created by Gus you know you're in for a rough ride.

I thought the same thing. To me, the music that played during Skyler's snooping around in Walt's condo stood out the most. Quite brilliant.

Nobody has mentioned Hank yet. How far he has fallen from a once proud and strong DEA agent, to a disabled collector of mineral stones from ebay, wow....

Obvious depression.
From "cock of the walk" to coming to terms with his dismisal in limbo from the DEA to having to do the bedpan shuffle.
He'll be back. No doubt in my mind.
