I am still proud of our girls. They lost to a team that fate decided had to win. The country of Japan needed this victory after what they went through and are still continuing to go through.

I look forward to seeing Alex Morgan play in a few more World Cups.

There’s even a reception about one hour prior to the show.

Which brings me to….’tube of the day

P.S.
Dennis, whatever you do, please don’t show up at the reception with a 21 year-old on your arm and embarrass me by telling folks that she’s your ‘niece’.

Ok who told you about my dating habits? Going to have to speak to Shark about that one.

Thank you for the offer Penton it is very much appreciated. Just being on the Sony lot would be a thrill for me. I'd be so wrapped up in the history of the place.
Unfortunately I don't believe I'll be in LA at that time.

PS. Would I see the Culver City "Thugs" gathered there ala "Gangs of New York" style?

Well, I guess we all know now how France felt after the semi because I believe that they (France) out-played us in that match….however, we still won. The shoe was on the other foot this time around, but that’s sport.

I agree with Merrick that Japan needed this win after what they’ve been through and I truly feel sorry for the individual members of the U.S. World Cup team (especially those who played in the Final match) but perhaps years from now when they’re no longer playing professionally or even competitively, they’ll be able to reflect back on the way they played the entire tournament and realize that the 2011 team, like the ’99 squad, despite a totally different result in the later case, probably ultimately will have done as much (or perhaps even more?)for women’s soccer….girls/women in general…and soccer in general…in the U.S. and around the world in the grand scheme of things.

That’s something to be rather proud of ….and I hope that legacy places a broad smile of contentment on their faces for many years to come. Some would say, that at the end of the day, when they’ve gotten over their initial disappointment, that a legacy like that, i.e. inspiring others by showing courage, perseverance, etc. is of greater achievement than any fleeting personal satisfaction resulting from the outcome of a single match.

As far as Japan’s squad, I can’t think of a more classy and gracious World Cup winner….men or women.

If there was a team I wanted the US to lose to I am glad it was Japan. ESPN radio has been fairly kind to the women.

I think Sony's new marketing plan should be to release trailers earlier in the week so that they're not leaked via bootleg online......especially with huge anticipated movies. They had to learn the hard way today, sadly.

Speaking of ESPN, I was watching Colin Cowherd and he had Hope Solo & ALex Morgan on the show...wow...just wow!!
The funnny thing was after he wrapped up the interview, which went nice, they came back from commercial break and he flat out said:
"If you're good looking and talented and come into my studio, you can have your way. I'll take off my journalistic hat"
I wonder if he was trying to subtly imply something there!

Regarding this past post on Blu-ray.com –
https://forum.blu-ray.com/insider-di...ml#post4911559

Posted: Tue., Jul. 19, 2011, 4:00am PT on Variety –

“Bay and Turner lavish praise on Legend3D, In-Three and Prime Focus for making it possible for Bay to cut seamlessly between native and converted 3D. "Legend did excellent work, they went beyond my expectations," says Bay. "I was just massively impressed.”
http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118040081

Pertaining to my past post on the subject (see the last sentence in the P.S.), I’m happy to see that Michael came through in revealing the 2D -> 3D contribution and thanking especially Legend3D, who did the lion's share of the work. All I’ll add to the Variety piece (in a numerical sense) is that there are about 10 fully CG shots in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

According to this source (and a few others) it will also be available on 3D Blu0ray players - in fact my Sony BDP-S770 shows a 3D menu for this. Just wondering about the PS3 but if it's stiull under non-disclosure I understand.

"The service will be available from 13 July to owners of 3D capable LCD TVs featuring Bravia Internet Video, immediately after purchase and without registration, with plans to expand to Sony's 3D capable Blu-ray Disc Player and Blu-ray Disc Home Theatre System," confirmed Sony.

Any chance one has seen The Tree of Life in the past couple of days?

I saw this yesterday and before purchasing my ticket they informed me there was an issue with the audio being out of sync. They said it was barely noticeable and took a full day for anyone to notice but that it apparently affected all theaters (not sure if this might be at all accurate).

The movie just started showing at this theater last Friday, and they couldn't say whether or not it would remain past this week nor when it would be fixed.. been a couple of days already apparently (they said they were waiting on a new print but it was a Sony Digital Cinema 4k theater), so I went ahead and saw it. It seemed like a couple of other people in line might have decided to see another movie based on the info.

Turns out the audio was off by 2-3 seconds starting around the

and lasted for the remainder of the film.

I think the ps4 will go full 1080p 3d. If Sony want my money they will need to include a bluray compatible machine as well.

To be precise, it will be announced to feature 7 simultaneous 1080p 3D video channels and, upon launch, will feature a single native 1080p channel with a 1080i 3D option to be available via downloaded firmware update for Playstation Plus subscribers "soon".
