Default GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Hitting PS3 with 1080p 60fps facelift & PS Move Support

Quote:
Activision Unveils GoldenEye 007(TM): Reloaded for the PlayStation(R)3 and Xbox 360(R)

Legendary James Bond Adventure Returns With New Gameplay Modes, Increased Multiplayer Options and Full PlayStation®Move Compatibility

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — The world’s most famous secret agent is back! Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) today declassified the existence of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, which will make its grand debut on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® for the first time ever. Built on a brand new engine that delivers striking visuals, blistering fast gameplay and the ability to play using the PlayStation®Move with Sharp Shooter peripheral, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is the complete James Bond experience shooter-fans have been waiting for and will launch in stores later this fall.

“We are beyond ecstatic to debut GoldenEye 007: Reloaded to the millions of fans who have been clamoring for it to arrive on Sony and Microsoft home consoles,” said David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing. “And now with full PlayStation Move functionality, 007 fans all around the world can play the game in full HD in more ways than ever before.”

“Promising to be one of the most immersive and interactive Bond games to date, this is an outstanding opportunity for PlayStation fans to experience one of the most iconic and action-packed shooters in an all new way with PlayStation Move and the Sharp Shooter peripheral,” said Rob Dyer, Senior Vice President, Sony Computer Entertainment of America. “By bringing together GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, and PlayStation Move’s Sharp Shooter, we are continuing to expand the new world of motion-based entertainment appealing for hardcore fans and only possible on PlayStation.”

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is a contemporary James Bond experience featuring HD visuals and realistic environments running at 60-frames per second, akin to today’s elite action games. Additional to the legendary story campaign, the game introduces the brand new ‘Mi6 Ops Missions’ — new, distinct levels separate from the campaign that span the varied environments from the story and challenge players to complete different Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded also takes multiplayer to new heights, maintaining and improving its renowned four-player split-screen action and adding full, adrenaline-pumping 16-player online matches with more maps, weapons, characters and game modes than ever before.

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded will arrive in stores this fall and is being developed by Eurocom under license from EON Productions Ltd and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM). A reworked, high-definition version of Goldeneye 007 for the Nintendo Wii appears to be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

While Activision hasn't officially announced the project yet, screenshots of the game were published today by Videogamer.

you beat me to it, Goldeneye was apparently the best shooter on the Wii, can't wait. Wasted many a day having 4 way Golden Eye matches. I always got my butt kicked though.

Do you think it will be full $60.00 game or a PSN/Live game?

If it is, I'm going to pass. The last time I played GoldenEye was on the N64 years ago. It was a good shooter for its time, but nostalgia has a way of skewing perception. I'm willing to give the 'reloaded' version a try, but not for $60.

Don't think I'll pay a full $60 for it either, but I'll probably end up getting this no matter what. LOVED Goldeneye.

Hope there is some cool online for it, as well. Can't wait.

Have this on N64 so my interest and excitement was raised quite high, then noticed the word 'Activision' and my interest and excitement suddenly vanished. Oh well, that's money saved

This is not the Rareware-developed, N64 classic that's being updated.

I'll keep my eye out for this, but there's no way I'll pay full retail price for it. I liked the Wii version, but not as much as the original on N64.

This is good news. I came real close to picking up the Wii version a few times, but kept thinking it might some type of timed exclusivity deal and a PS3 version might be coming. I'll definitely pick this up at the right price.

And apparently the PS3 version supports 1080p in addition to 60fps.

Quote:
Recently announced GoldenEye 007: Reloaded will run at 720p on Xbox 360, but PlayStation 3 owners will be able to play the game at 1080.

The detail was confirmed to VideoGamer.com by Activision producer James Steer at a London announcement event for GoldenEye 007: Reloaded.
Might be something like 720p60 and 1080p30 though.

Eurocom also developed Dead Space Extraction for Wii/PS3.

Yup, which is why I don't have much interest. If they did a port, just upped the graphics (framerate as well) and sound and added online I'd buy it.

This fall is already looking jam packed with great games coming out. I loved Goldeneye in the N64 days but I'll probably have to pass on this due to the full lineup of games.

The trailer was kinda blag...but it would be nice to get a Bond game in 1080p that doesn't look like crap. May pick it up.

It's a full priced game and a totally new game it's not an exact remake of Rare's Goldeneye video review it's an HD port of the Wii game.

1080p only on PS3 AND Move support? Activision, you realize this is the PS3 right?? You know, the console that you threatened to stop publishing games for like 2 years ago?

Anyway, I'm not that interested in the game but I know a lot of people are probably excited about this so it's good to see that it's coming!
