Oh.

I was talking about the teaser trailer. I couldn't see your video, so I quickly assumed you posted the teaser vid. My mistake Eric.

My only problem with the trailer is that the alien ship looks, and sounds, a lot like the Transformers robots. I really hope we see more of the aliens and less of their ships in the movie just because I don't want to be comparing this movie to Transformers, but the similarities are definitely there.

I love Peter Berg and most of the cast, so I want to enjoy this movie. it's just hard to get past the Transformers like vibe for me since this is its own movie. This movie could be very entertaining, or very, very bad. I really hope it isn't terrible, but you know...It's hard to have faith.

Lets get one thing straight, Michael Bay always has great trailers for his movies. They show off the best parts. If this is the best parts of Battleship, they're in trouble. The Transformers films are mindless fun done right, where this is just all wrong.

It looks more like a Stephen Sommers film (except for The Mummy, his only good one).

I don't know what to think in regards to the plot. Naval combat movie would have been better. But the effects in the trailer did look good. So does Brooklyn Decker.

I think most of us assumed early on that this would BE a detail-action naval combat movie, like "Crimson Tide", or "Pearl Harbor" (only better).

Just how exactly alien Transformers got in there (apart from trying to "de-politicize" the enemy), or what exactly they have to do with grid torpedo/missile combat, I.....really couldn't say at this point.
Most people will make the obvious assumption think "Now, y'see, this movie is what could happen to you if you liked Bay's Transformers...", and I'm not so sure they'd be wrong. Hollywood is certainly alone on that one.

(The even dopier would think Bay DID direct it, since it was, like, a Hasbro toy and now it's a movie--
For the record, Peter "Hancock" Berg did. Let's get this straight early on, and we can avoid a lot of fuss.)

Nothing in the trailer was interesting to me. The shot of the ship firing all canons looked kinda cool though.

I have liked majority of Berg's past movies (Friday Night Lights, The Rundown, and The Kingdom). Unfortunately it looks like more of the same old same.

As mentioned before, I did like the last shot of the ship firing.

Could be an enjoyable popcorn flick. I want this movie done and over with so Peter Berg can start filming Lone Survivor.

Hey plus Brooklyn Decker is in this one, sold!

+1 on your whole post. (FNL, Rundown, The Kingdom, enjoyed em' all). Weird when those "pegs" were shot into the side of the ship, but that shot of the Battleship firing the 16" guns was pretty impressive & Sounded very real, trust me.
[Show spoiler](I was in the Navy, on an Aircraft Carrier at one time)
I've heard those things go off & you don't want to be anywhere near them without Massive hearing protection rigs over your ears.

It "looks" pretty cool too, so I assume the film might look impressive visually, but that Alien thing coming out of the water... Not sure what's goin' on there.

Berg/Directing, Neeson as an Admiral, Skarsgard (sp?) - All have done good, solid work so let's hold off in Sinking this film til' we've seen more, alright?

"Clear eyes, full hearts.... Optimus!!!!!"

Actually, Landry is also in this movie in addition to Riggins.

This doesn't look like a Sommers movie (anymore). With each movie, he ups the CGI but despite the increase in price, it ends up looking cheap and gaudy. At least the Decpticon in this trailer looks good.

lol. Agreed. And Berg looks to be capturing Bay's style pretty well in those shots.

This looks like the sequel to Cowboys & Aliens, except this time, we're calling it Sailors & Aliens.

The trailer does feature some cool stuff, but they should definitely release a new one soon that gives more context to what is going on.

Check out the above article, it really is good for a laugh. And it makes some valid points about just how poorly edited together most of the trailer is.
