Not until a standalone player decodes it internally.

Well, when the new Panny hits, that will be a player that does it internally so let's hope we get DTS MA by the summer for the PS3.

Something like the 360 has where, in game; I can add friends; and most importantly mute the annoying people that I don't want to hear.

a bit off topic,

but does the ps3 support dvd+r DL media?

my ps3 refuses to play them, I use ROM bitsetting.

is there a procedure?

sorry for the off topic question.

Default Keyboard/mouse

For a "supercomputer" the PS3 doesn't even support KEYBOARD AND MOUSE on all the games...or is it the games don't support kb/m.

Anyway that would be my #1 feature, to see all the fps support keyboard and mouse. I cannot get use to playing fps w/ ps3 controller.

Then all that audio support, internet browsing/downloading onto hard drive, winamp skins for playing music.

Default Bitstreaming

To all those that keeps requesting bitstreaming of DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD...

There is really no point, both codecs are lossless, meaing that when decompressed you either hit an exact copy or you do not. The best example I can give you, is to compare it to Zip-compression. Either you get a perfect representation out of it, or you do not. It is that simple, bitstreaming is not going to improve on that, since the material is already bit-for-bit a perfect replica of the original studio master. So when the PS3 receives the certification from DTS to be a correct DTS-HD Master Audio decoder, you can be sure that the PCM sound sent by the PS3, decoded from the DTS-HD Master Audio, will be exactly the same as a PCM stream, done by a DSP-chip in some amplifier.

As far as I have read, Sony has an "understanding" with the other Blu-ray manufactorers that means Sony will not introduce a Blu-ray feature in the PS3, before a stand-alone player has that feature also, ie. Profile 1.1 support only came out for the PS3 after a standalone had gotten it, even though the PS3 was capable of handling the workload from the beginning due to the CPU. So my guess is that DTS-HD Master Audio decompression will become available in the PS3, a few weeks after the new Panasonic DMP-BD50 lands in the summer.

I would like the SACD multi-channel output through Optical back. It worked on version 2.00 and was removed on 2.01. Not everyone has a HDMI AVR and it opens up the multi-channel SACD market to people like me with a 5.1 setup. That said, the new model 40GB PS3 lacks SACD playback anyway so I guess Sony are giving up on it.

I've been interested in surround sound for years but never got round to investing. The PS3 convinced me to invest in what I could. Seriously, my PS3 brought me breakfast every morning and said "Honey, I need surround sound". Anyway that drugless trip aside, I must say I've been blown away by realtime surround sound in games, (The times I've pwned some noob sneaking up behind me on warhawk because I heard him swiping his knife first), in fact I'd go as far as to say most movies I've watched do very little with the surround channels. Mainly action sequences.

Yeah... anyways, BRING BACK MULTICHANNEL SACD FOR US OPTICAL AVR OWNERS!!!

I'd also like to see more stylish realtime/animated backgrounds. So far the 'silk' effect is the only one.

DTS MA decoding in the PS3. That's all I really want at this point.

I wouldn't mind seeing internet radio being added either, much like the PSP.

Default the in-game XMB already been confirmed

the in-game XMB already been confirmed by Sony at the CES 2008 couple days ago.. the news just didnt spread enough but yes they going to put that in the future firmware this year but no date set yet.

DTS-HD suppose to be out between this month and May 2008.

Whatever you wish for firmware just google it, you will find out about those information been reveal to be release this year. So, I'm not in the rush for those wishes i want on my PS3... I own a PSP and it just enough for me to be patient.
