Gale said (paraphrasing), "Bob quit taking money from companies, in exchange for placement, because it carried the potential occurence of a lawsuit." He also said, "Bob and I didn't mind using various products in the [Back to the Future] films, if they were donated to us. But we didn't want to deal with money."
