Now that the website has an established base of support and a healthy level of page hits, I assume the owners are prepping it to be sold off soon. That is usually how these things operate, people just don't start these websites on a lark. As sites get bigger and more famous, a certain level of political correctness and conservatism sets in that removes the wilder elements.

It's a business decision more than anything else...

Not surprising the DJIA thread was deleted, though I'm disappointed I didn't get to see what happened in that one.

Oh well, I'm off to a juice bar...

very true, sadly.

the younger and less attention a site gets, the more the users can roam free and actually say what they want. the more eyes and members, the more strict and sucky sites usually become. err, not "sucky" but "restricted"... yeah, let's go with... restricted

I wasn't here when it was the Wild West, but I like what it is now. I've seen complaints about how fast a thread can close, but I look at that as the Lesser of Two Evils. If the Mods let things get carried away, it gets pretty nasty in a hurry. (that lunatic talking about The Passion Of The Christ) If WE were better at policing ourselves, they wouldn't have to step in. Right?
There are other a/v sites I've been to, but haven't for a very long time. I like it here a lot. There's some very cool people, some funny people and some helpful/knowledgable people. That's what I like.
I'm not saying it's wrong to want what you had before, I just like what I see now.

Yeah, unfortunately this site will go the same way as a lot of others, overly moderated, post's deleted. Just so they don't offend a small minority group, it is going that way now.
The Mods get carried away with their perceived power and just get carried away. Jokes that are taken the wrong way will be deleted, as well as funny remarks etc.

I doubt very much I will be visiting blu-ray.com in a few years time, it WILL be sold off, as soon as that happens, watch the multiple ads appear and take over.

I spend most of my time on OffTopic and G+.

There are very few reasons I come back here with the exception of a cool super mod, he knows who he is, and the site developer. Then there are a few cool people I like to keep contact with.

When jw was ousted I thought things would get better but they got worse.
