I import a lot so I wonder about this. I know so far titles have been on a studio basis but do you think the standard will be to region lock all titles? (similar to how DVD's were, even old catalogue releases).
I'm getting a REGION B player so this won't be too much of a problem for me in the future but it might get a little annoying that I wouldn't get the discs to work on other players. |

What was the reason for such tight restrictions on DVD's? I think there were six regions and just about every large studio release was region locked from what I know. Why was this done in DVD's early life when many catalogue titles were being re-released?
I was really annoyed with the six regions. |
