Had the default deadline not been avoided, which I never thought for one minute was any more than political jostling until the last minute, then maybe. As it is, the continuing problems in the EU economies and announcements like today with Lloyds will probably keep it around the same for the foreseeable future.

Hi, new to posting on the forum, but have been viewing for a while.

Just noticed play.com have changed the release date for Pulp Fiction to 10th October. Jackie Brown is still the 17th.

Amazon has them both on the 17th still...

Hmm... In two minds about this after their Source Code exclusive steel turned out to be a stickerbook.

Really! Ouch . It did look a little suspect from the picture. If Pulp Fiction is a steelbook I will be picking it up .

Yeh it's the first stickerbook I've ever owned, and coming after my beautifull Ger Sucker Punch steel I was a bit underwhelmed to say the least. Still got an order in for this though, cautiosly optimistic is the way I'd put it.

Pulp fiction steel? I really really hope its not a stickerbook, to stop everyone getting up in arms haha.

Wouldn't bother me, but It looks to be another OOP one, popular film (very), limited edition (supposedly). For those that buy multiple copies, it's probably a chance to do so again.

I must admit I did enjoy reading comments from people who bought 5+ copies of Source Code only to be pissed that it was a stickerbook and returning them

Heres the thread for the Pulp Fiction Steel

I'll shup in a bit, or move to that thread, but surely the fact it's stickerbook is neither here nor there, if it's OOP, it'll be rare and pricey in the future? Why are people returning them?

It's hardly Play.com's fault either is it really, if anything it's laziness by the studio/distribution.

anyways, lets go, 16 copies on pre-order haha.

I'm happy to have my entire ONE copy I don't mind that its a stickerbook, just doesn't look as nice as my other steels. There's no way I would return it just because it's a sticker stuck to the steel.

15!

Seems like people aren't impressed with the transfer. Comparison and review.

After Excalibur DVDBeaver's screenshots are best treated with a little scepticism. I can't see any less detail in the Lionsgate shots on this monitor, its the increased brightness washing it out a little.

I notice Pulp Fiction went through the BBFC again on 31.8.11 without any mention of cuts so the silliness with reframing Travolta shooting up seems to have been abandoned

Will this be the same transfer as the new US release (miramax) - same extras and everything?

It should be yes, if you look at Mavrick's link above on dvd beaver, it links the amazon US and Amazon UK orders under the same title of Miramax/Liongate, which incidentally, has had a pretty good review on this site. Can't see anything wrong with the screenshots, so I am definitely taking dvdbeaver with a pinch of salt

Yeah it will be the exact same transfer. It's being released by the same company here and US as far as I can tell. I Don't see an issue with the transfer myself.

It was in the US thread that it all kiked off over the review on the link I posted. So I will definately be picking up the UK steely.

What of the differing states of the cut between the UK and US versions? Wasn't there a drug taking scene which had to be re-framed for the UK release? Not sure if thats been waived now though...? Anyone know?

I've ordered the steelbook from play and they tend to take my money Wednesday/thursday and ship Thursday/friday. They aren't anywhere near as fast as shipping as HMV. Who I usually go with, but for obvious reassons I went with play.
