A LOT of people have been waiting for this generation of consoles to drop down to $199 for a long time. That's when the PS2 got most of it's sales. That's long been considered the "sweet spot" It beats staying at $299, but if Sony really wanted to set the tone for the holiday season I think going to $199 would be the right move. I am sure many people will give the speech about how great a value the PS3 is at $249 (and I agree its a GREAT value), but at this stage of the game people care most about price and those concerned with value already own a PS3. Oh well, I already own a PS3 and its possible that economic realities might not make a drop to $199 possible, but I felt that Sony had a huge opportunity to really punch the 360 in the gut but all they did was jab and leave themselves open to a counterpunch. |
