Default Suggestion that I hope is taken into consideration..

When a movie gets an announcement, can we get an "Official Batman Begins Thread" or "Official The Rock thread"?
One thread per movie, and others can be pulled into them.
I get so sick and tired of having to wade through 50 threads saying "gosh the rock was a keen movie" "gosh dragon wars sucked" and so on.
It would clean things up greatly and make the boards less of a cluster ****.
I would make the threads myself but I do not want to get a pm or something and I think it would be more effective and last longer if it was supported on the mod end too.

We plan to add one official thread for each movie shortly.

Not a bad idea. There could just be a link in the Forum tab that's already on each movie page in the movie section. But man, there's so many Blu-Rays now, it'd be good to get it started now.

I like that idea, but there are two potential problems.

When movie pages become 10+ pages long, it's impossible and daunting to join into the discussion. I don't know how to combat that problem, but I can see it being one. Especially when people come along and make posts like "+1" or "lol ".

And also, I think they would have to be in their own section of the forum, because it would be too confusing to have 30+ movies stickied at the top of the "Blu-ray Movies and Releases" section. Too much sticking and stickying would lose it's meaning.

I don't know what the new forum section would be called, but someone cleverer than I am could come up with something.

Great idea though! Be nice if it were alphabetized somehow by movie title, as the list grows...

+1...no j/k good point and another thing is when they merge topics from the people who cant search, try reading that and keeping up with whats going on, pretty hard. But its not a perfect world so these are things we deal with and move along

I know exactly what you mean. It will be a lot of work getting this right. The obvious thing to do, is if someone posts a repeat thread, just close the topic instead of merging it into one that says the same thing. Too many merges makes for bad business.

I'm interested in seeing this come to fruition. It will be a welcome addition to the site. Just one thread for people wanting Sin City (+1 to that) on Blu-ray.

I agree, well would it be possible for people to give thumbs up to a post just like how you can rate a thread with stars just so it does not take up extra posts with the +1?
I think it is nice that there is someone in the world that agrees with what you have to say but do we need the whole thing re quoted and the just the +1,+2,+32934298238, might cut down a whole lot of wasted space yet still make the op feel special.

Their own section would be nice. Call it NEW BD Movie Discussion and have one for old releases as well.

Yep, easy enough You could give new release Films/TV shows/Concerts - say - 1 month after they are released before they are moved into the old releases section, where the discussion could continue on uninterrupted.

Again, great idea. I think +1's are just spam, and it is a nuisance to have to scroll past them. Other forums on vbulletin have a "Reputation" scale right near the "REPORT POST" button on your posts, where you can easily add reputation to someone (And leave a note to the person explaining why), but you have to "Spread some love around", and cannot add rep. to one person multiple times in a week. I think that scenario is much better.

I am going to bump this , because it really needs to be done.
I find myself yet again looking for a certain thread about a movie, yet I have spent an hour looking back through oceans of inane and just mindboggling two and three post threads all on the same movies and all saying the same things many all on the same page.
It would look better, be far more usefull and just all around be a better way to go to have an official thread for each movie.
It will be easier to search through, easier to move threads into, and it is better to do it sooner and get caught up than wait until there are twice as many movies out.

I agree, but I think the core point is to have more mods.

I think they are doing an excellent job, but may be getting overwhelmed.

Merging and moving posts is a great idea, and there are many areas that need it, but the investment of time may be quite a bit for them.

As of now, we have almost twice as many guests as members viewing our forums. They just need to be cleaned up.

I say let the marketplace of ideas decide. Threads that don't grow usually do so because the readership feels nothing needs to be added. It's fine now to have an official thread for each Blu-ray that comes out only because few BDs are coming out at once. But as the market matures this will not be true(especially as two certain studios start releasing on Blu-ray) and could quickly become a problem.

A refreshing prospect. Even though this is an outstanding measure you'll be taking, it will still be difficult seperating the serious Forum Members, from the silly forum members. An impossible task, that I see 'no' solution too! [Jim]

Especially after todays announcement. Everyone's gone crazy here! There's like a billion and one threads on Universal, a billion and two on Paramount, and then tons of questions about upcoming releases! It's like an explosion of excitement or something....
