Your error. The same basic information is present in both scenes, though the following is the only bit quoted verbatim:

"Even I get boarded sometimes. Do you think I had a choice?" Han Solo to Greedo and to Jabba. Redundant.

You're right about one bit of extra information, though. Boba Fett doesn't mug to the camera during the Greedo scene.

Beast,

Even as hardcore as I am about Lucas' vision, I'll admit that "Bring my shuttle" is still the best line. It's the absolute one change that Lucas made I didn't like.

I'm fine with everything else, but I miss "Bring my shuttle". Frankly, it's just colder that way...and more badass.

2. If his shuttle wasn't already waiting for him, where was it? Were the pilots joyriding or hitting a gas station?

3. By the time Vader arrives on the bridge of his S.S.D., it's already leaving the system in pursuit of the Falcon.

4. How does Vader's shuttle fly all the way from his S.S.D. to Bespin's Cloud City to pick him up and return, in this short amount of time. Especially since the S.S.D. is getting further away by the moment as it's been pursuing the Falcon the entire time. And we know not much time has elapsed judging by what's going on in the Falcon with Luke. And because Lando and Chewie haven't tried the jump to hyperspace long before Vader's return to his ship.

The only way the timeline makes a lick of sense, is if Vader already has a shuttle waiting for him on a Bespin Landing Platform.

I agree that by adding the shuttle in the Vader sequence the line makes no sense, but the dialogue is a bit of a mouthful ("Alert my Star Destroyer to prepare for my arrival"). Hey, here are some alternatives:

There's my shuttle!

It's my shuttle!

Hey, my shuttle!

Wow, a shuttle!

Is that a shuttle?

It's certainly presented more badass. But it doesn't make any sense from an In-Universe Perspective.

What a bunch of complete and utter B.S.

Vader got where he was going through the magic of Movie Time. You know things in movies don't play out in real time, right?

BTW, your name wouldn't happen to be David Gohman would it?

The magical "Movie Time" argument doesn't work. There's no time elapse, because we see pretty much the entirety of the event going on in the Millenium Falcon while she's being pursued. So magical "Movie Time" doesn't work in this case because there's no real time shift to the events going on. Lando saves Luke from the bottom of Cloud City and they fly away. Lando turns Luke over to Leia who sees to the wounds while Lando heads to the bridge to help Chewie with piloting to avoid the squadron of T.I.E.s and the S.S.D. which is in pursuit. It just is a timeline issue that really has always bugged me til the change.

Yeah, but what if it's on the other side of the city and he needs to get out right now? From an in-universe perspective, this makes much more sense than your theory.

I have a theory, albeit not a popular one, but I don't think Beast has ever actually watched any of the Star Wars films.......

Perhaps it was there and he just wanted one of his crew to bring it around closer to were he was. Cloud City was a big place after all

Again maybe it was there and he just wanted it closer to where he moved to

It didn't take long to bring the shuttle around. As pissed of as Vader was I don't thing anyone was going to doddle.

The line was better as it originally was. After everything that was estalished the scene was more about the emotions that the legistics.

While I don't dislike the scene, it takes out all the tension of Solo been on the run from Jabba the Hut. Solo goes from been wanted one minute to Jabba saying 'don't worry buddy.... pay me back when you have time, I'm not the vilest gangster in the system and I won't take your Barry Manilow vinyl's as collateral....' He came off as a kind hearted slug and he didn't send out the goon squad until after the Death Star blew up.

Jabba didn't care he blew away Greedo and that guy's had been running numbers for him for twenty years. Although he was known to have missed the margain of the note pad on several occasions.

Although Jabba did have a Rodian in reserve....

Very true, I find that a lot of the additional scenes and dialouge that was changed. Actually changes the characters to and that scene does hurt Jabba's character. I mean on top of all that he doesn't even care he stepped on his tail?

My multiple copies on BetaMax, VHS, LD, and DVD and soon Blu-Ray would disagree with you.

And I mentioned the other day that when the OT LD's came out I watched one a day for a year.

It will not be on my versions...as the *Chapter Skip* button on my remote takes care of that unfortunate debacle.

I love Jabba's "gasp" in the 1997 SE. Just the way his face contorts when Han steps on the tail. Made me lol the first time I saw it.

The model over all sucked, but that one expression stuck in my mind and I was disappointed when they changed the animations in 2004.

The simple answer is that the shuttle is already there in the special edition therefore the original line cannot be in that scene. He would say "Bring my shuttle", it would cut to a wide angle and it would be 20 feet in front of him. That's why the line had to change.
