answer these questions:
1) are you a smurfs fan since childhood? 2) are you able to "stand" the scooby-doo movies? 3) are you happy to be surprised by this but still know it's not the best thing since sliced bread? if so, then pre-order away my friend. saw this with friends and really enjoyed it. the 3d, especially with the portal near the beginning of the film, was great. look out for the leaves flying into the portal...you find yourself trying to swat them away to get a clearer view of what's happening! |

When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the Smurfs out of their village, they're forced through a portal, out of their world and into ours, landing in the middle of New York's Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down!
Shopping in China town Nagasaki Japan, I saw this on a shelf in a small Chinese DVD/Bluray shop and was surprised. I been there before and bought 3D movies so I grabbed this and gave it a shot. Took it home, threw it in the 3DBD player and sure enough.. It was The Smurfs! The opening scene showing the woods and their village had great 3D depth but the scenes showing New York looked great also. No real popout scenes, one scene showed them in an office playing with a toy remote control helicopter that kinda popped once in awhile, but not so much. Mainly outdoor scenes looked great with good depth, at times I felt like I was there ![]() Closeup 3D shots of Smurfs were amazing, colors were very bright and I could see the details of their skin, knit hats and shorts. This one is a must see, though the movie was a little strange.. "What do you expect, its the Smurfs!" I give the 3D an 8/10 great depth outdoors |

I wonder if Kenneth Brown went home for Thanksgiving. Blu-ray.com reviewed the 2D version of SMURFS, but the 3D review is sorely missing.
![]() I see amazon has Smurfs 3D for $24.99. I hope Best Buy or Target can do a couple dollars better. Last edited by nycomet; 11-23-2011 at 02:14 AM. |

I don't think that Sony has ever issued a coupon for one of their first week release blu-rays. It would be nice if there was a $5 coupon though that would make the 3D version $20 and the 2D version $15 at Target.. I would not hold my breath though

I am getting ready to buy this at walmart.com and can't see any mention of a digital copy. Am I just missing it or does this not come with a digital copy at walmart?
