He barely made more. He signed a 5 year 12 million dollar deal. If you don't think he has out performed that one you are crazy. I think his demands are a little too steep but he deserves more then a million dollars a year.

I don't think he's outperformed the contract he made when he was the #24 pick and hadn't proven anything on the field. I do think that he's played hard and deserves a bigger contract...after his current contract expires.

I'm not saying he didn't outperform his contract, I'm saying he SIGNED a contract. And he still has 2 years on it. The Titans are totally in the right not re-signing him with the amount he is demanding. If it were up to me he would be held to the 2 years left and wouldn't get a new deal.

Ravens’ Doss gets a burger, halts a knife attack before game

Quote:
Ravens rookie receiver Tandon Doss stopped for a burger at Five Guys before playing in Thursday night’s preseason game against the Redskins. He ended up playing hero to a man who was getting attacked inside the restaurant.

Doss wrote about the incident on Twitter, saying, “Jus had to break up a fight at five guys. Baltimore is too ratchet!!!”

After the game against the Redskins, reporters asked Doss about his Twitter posts, and Doss expanded on what happened.

“I saw somebody start fighting, and I broke it up,” Doss said. “That’s all it was to me. . . . I mean, it was two dudes on one. I was trying to help the situation out. I broke it up.”

Cool story in case anyone missed it!

As a Ravens fan i take offense to that.

But from a thought process standpoint, I can agree with him. And I think him holding the rights to Palmer and not bending to his ridiculous trade demand sends a GREAT message. I wish more owners would two the line. And if Palmer continues with this drama BS I would LOVE to see all the other owners blacklist him and keep him out of the NFL.

So should the owners be required to pay all the money they owe a player on a contract they signed? You can't have it both ways. If they can cut guys who under perform and not pay them the players should have the right to ask for more.

Oh your One of them
[Show spoiler]

I'm split on the subject, I think on a regular team yes, it's a decent jesture and unlike Chris Johnson the offense doesnt revolve around carson palmer. He's not that important to us.

Yet, were starting from scratch. We need bodies, draft picks, solid role players to complete our team. In essence trying to uphold this "Standard" is overall hurting our team. So in Mike Brown's case it's looked down upon.

Yet as i've said before if the Mike tomlin's, and the bleicheck's of the world would have done the same thing it wouldn't have been a problem in those respective cities. That are in winning atmospheres.

Thats my take to each his own, two sides to each story and i think it's all situational. The titans will go 1-15 if they dont sign chris johnson. Their team revolves around him. Unless Javon ringer is "That good", their season is lost w/o him. So pay him relatively close to 25-28 Million guranteed. The titans are Notorious for this as well you have to realize.

They should be required to comply with the contract. Perhaps the contracts provide them the ability to say "if you don't perform, you don't get paid." I have no idea.

If I was a Bengals fan I would be pissed at the owner. I cant blame Palmer for not wanting to be there. They are a terrible franchise that has been run very poorly. They could trade him and help the team. He is hurting the current players and fans by sticking to his guns. That is why they won't win anything. You can't fault Carson. If you were working at a job you hated you would want to love too. Especially if you were well off financially where you could retire and never work again.

Those contracts say they can be voided at any time for any reason. They aren't worth anything. They are redone, restructured, and voided constantly. It happens hundreds of times per day at this time of year. He is just the biggest name and that is why it is a story.

The biggest thing was for me to see our OLINE yes it was the panthers only, but still we really took out charles johnson and the running game was on point.

Defense was decent, and the pressure we got in the pcket was awesome. Seeing as this is the most important preseason game League-wide i came away relieved alittle bit.
It was Chris Gamble he burned for the TD which is not surprising considering most people around here feel like Gamble should be cut immediately. He doesnt have the speed to cover anymore and he's afraid to tackle. Munnerlyn is a midget who wouldnt stand a chance against #1's. He can only cover the slot receivers. The Panthers defense has looked pretty horrible. Theyre giving up too many rushing yards right up the middle. Easy to double down on Charles Johnson with no one else on the line who commands any respect. Hopefully that will all change when Jon Beason and Greg Hardy come back. If it doesnt then I expect us to have the #1 pick again.

Numerous players who were in jeaporday of that like Ryan Grant agreed to restructured deals so they werent cut. It happens daily.

Sounds like we are playing the "say something wrong so blame it on something else" game.

Whats next the "my words were taken out of context" game.

I can names tons of players or who were cut and contracts were never honored case and example, DeAngelo Hall was cut by the Raiders only after 8 games a few years ago after getting a $70 million contract with $24.5 million guaranteed, In total, Hall received $8 million, a $7 million signing bonus and $1 million in base salary, for playing eight games for Oakland

Another one of Al Davis ridiculous contracts

But if owners dont have to honor contracts, neither do players, dont blame Chris Johnson at all who deserves to be paid like one of the highest RB in the league!!!

The thing that really worries me is I have a feeling Felix Jones is about to have a 1400-1600 yards from scrimmage kind of season and then will demand a huge raise, so here's hoping he still likes his rookie contract in 2012.

I think he will have a monster year too. He needs to put a couple of them together before asking for a raise though. Chris Johnson has had more then 1000 all three years including huge years the second and third year.

Browns LG Eric Steinbach is "out indefinitely" after being diagnosed with a disc problem in his back.
A herniated disc could require surgery, but the extent of the injury has yet to be confirmed. So much for the Browns' promising offense after two preseason games. Colt McCoy and the starters fell apart on Thursday night against the Eagles, and now injuries have become a major concern. Fourth-round rookie Jason Pinkston will be the starting left guard until Steinbach returns.
