![]() Also why did he make the door to Jabba's palace so giant? I mean, i know he's a big worm guy and all, but why THAT big? Unless they make the rest of his place giant too it's going to look really weird... Last edited by insomniac013; 08-31-2011 at 03:35 PM. |

I like subtlety, but i guess Jorge doesn't share my love for the little things... Then again he did make the prequels, so it really shouldn't surprise anyone. Practically everything in those movies were big and bombastic!

OT: i'm really looking forward to Redlettermedia's Indy 4 review because that's another movie that i kind of liked when i saw it but apparently everybody else hates. Should be interesting ![]() Last edited by insomniac013; 08-31-2011 at 04:08 PM. |

I care about all these changes because i remember watching these movies all the time when i was a kid on VHS. T'was the original cuts of course, so those are the ones i remember most fondly... Years later i bought the so called "Limited Editions" of the OT on DVD (on top of owning the great 2004 set!) mainly because they included the theatrical cuts! Transfers are in terrible condition of course (Lucas does not give a s**t about them obviously) and it's not much better than watching a worn-down VHS tape, but at least it's included and i don't need a VHS/Laserdisc to watch them.
BRING THE REMASTERED ORIGINAL CUTS TO BLU RAY! ![]() |

Oh. My. God.
Just seen the Noooo! from ROTJ and Lucas has just killed one of the most iconic scenes in SW. I loved the fact that we see Vader looking at his Master and Son and we know exactly what he's thinking without him even saying anything! The first No sounds as if he's answering a question. The scene was perfect ![]() ![]() The Noooo! at the end of ROTS completely kills that scene too! |

I really don't know what to think about the changes. I guess deep down I knew there would be soom. Some are unnoticeable and go by in the blink of an eye like the Ewok eyes and Jabba's front door (I guess that must be the Rancor's entrance). But the others seem almost bizarre.
Obi-Wan's scream has always bugs me, I never understood why he didn't ignite his lightsaber and frighten the Sandpeople away, I'm sure the legend of the Jedi that came into their camp and murdered half a tribe is still told by those superstitious people. I guess Lucas wanted to wait until later to reveal is lightsaber but the Cantina was the best place for it not Obi-Wan's hut. The 'No!' makes no sense at all now, it's almost like he wants to detract from David Prowse's performance with that awful bellowing. Vader was almost a silent movie villain in the first place he never needed reams of dialogue and that wasn't a moment that needed any at all. It was all in Prowse's performance. He looked at his son and he looked at the Emperor, he made his mind up and went for it. We can see the emotions buried deep underneath the levels of machinery. It never needed changes. It was perfect. |
