This and Zombie 5: Killing Birds are trash. But fun trash.

I'm in for this one, notorious 80s eurotrash.

It's the glorious early days of dvd all over again with these titles being released slowly.

Would have preferred other titles in MB's catalog, but Zombie 4 is really fun even if it's really cheesy (just like Fragrasso's other flicks he directed or co-directed in Troll 2, Monster Dog, Zombie 3, and Hell of the Living Dead).

Hopefully it's delayed so Shriek Show can get an uncut print! The SS DVD was complete, but several minutes of footage had to be sourced from a lower quality master.

If the transfer for AFTER DEATH is better than the last couple Italian sourced Shriek Show transfers, I'll pick it up.

Yeah, one of the guys from Media Blasters was in here trying to defend Beyond the Darkness and said that they were trying to find a complete master of Zombi 3 since some of the material was sourced from a VHS.

Runtime: 84 Minutes? What the--

Back when SS was working on the DVD they said the runtime would 84 minutes, without realizing that the screeners they were basing that off of were running at PAL speed instead of NTSC. So either MB still has trouble with that 24fps/25fps stuff, or we'll be seeing the shorter Italian edit. Let's hope it's just the former...

I thought it was the German (X-Kult) or the Japanese edition had extra dialogue, but never the US one.

Let me grab that Shriek Show DVD to double-check... huh, my mistake. Runtime of 84:03.

Now I see where I got lost. MB initially quoted 80 Min. (PAL) when they were releasing the 84 minute Euro version. Which is funny because a PAL version of the Export (JP) cut would run 84 minutes PAL. For that reason I've always thought the SS DVD was the export cut with the wrong runtime listed... but then I haven't watched the film in, what, 6 or 7 years, and never knew what the "added" footage from the JP release was.

I guess you do learn something silly every day.

"Zombi 2" is coming out from Blue Underground this October. They're just calling it "Zombie". (The first 'Zombie' was Dario Argento's shorter cut of George Romero's Dawn of the Dead.) Zombi 3 is "just" Zombi 3, and as I've said earlier the only reason Shriek Show hasn't released this yet is because the print they currently have is cut to ribbons. Truth be told I'd love to own Zombi 3 on Blu-ray, but not if they're going to source 8 minutes of footage from SD materials...

After Death wasn't ever really Zombi 4, anyway. That was just a clever marketing gimmick somebody came up with.

Sorry about bringing back such an old thread, but seriously, any news on this or Zombie 5 Killing birds hitting blu-ray? I legitimately like Zombie 4 but I'd buy 5 as well even though it's terrible.

I'd buy a BD upgrade of Killing Birds but After Death was a pile of excrement. Maybe Bananaman will put this out since he's already release a bunch of other Shriek Show titles. If he does I hope he doesn't call it Zombie 5. That was stupid.

Don't think so. They announced they'd be releasing a Bruno Mattei movie, Shocking Dark if I recall correctly and mentioned Zombie 4 as well.
