Default HD in QC/Canada...

According to an article from DVDEF.com (in french)

Most Studio in Québec/Canada are Blu. All of them will release some title on Blu-Ray exclusivily in 2008.

You might not care about this news.. but more BluRay Only Studios , The Better..

La Vie en Rose is a port from France i think.. Video wise. The audio is another thing, i think the French BluRay have DTS HD MA...

I'd like to get "Lost and Delirious" on Blu-ray.
Great soundtrack, nice lesbian scene with Piper Perabo and Jessica Pare, pretty decent drama overall.

Lionsgate i don't know. But New Line is handle by Alliance Here, on DVD Alliance do special DVD version for Canada with french tracks. Since the cost of BluRay mastering must be to high they don't do it yet. It was pretty much the same at DVD Launch until Alliance got the contract with New Line.

Disney did it for Cars. The Full english version had English PCM 24bits and English DD5.1, the Canadian version had TrueHD 16bits in English, DD5.1 in French and Spanish. Harry Potter 1 is the same. The US edition only have English on it, but the Canadian version have French (Canadian and France) on it..

Local Canadian fare is always so artsy.

There's "Decline of the American empire", except there's really nothing american in there, it's all canadian. No BD eye candy there.

Porky's was funded by a canadian company. Imagine that.

The best canadian success stories are the talent we export to hollywood. Norman Jewison, David Cronenberg, Neo (Keanu Reeves) all canadians.

Lionsgate, out of Vancouver is a BD exclusive studio. 3:10 To Yuma is a masterpiece.

I'm surprised that the idiots at the language police in Quebecois didnt make blu ray change its name to Bleu ray, lol. Thank God for that ay.

Those hard headed idiots have cost this province billions of dollars, quebec is almost a 3rd world country because of them, I cant wait to move to Toronto or Ottawa. They ruined this province.
