Yeah, I would recommend Amazon.com over Amazon.ca anyday. There are also other good websites, like DVDPacific.com. But avoid DeepDiscount.com as you often will get nailed on customs. I know I did!

I have placed orders with DeepDiscount.com last Sep, Oct, and Nov (Disney, Sony and Warner BOGOs) which all ended up getting split into multiple shipments of varying values.

When the shipment value was listed as $24 or under I haven't been hit with any border handling fee or sales taxes. However every shipment that was over the $40 mark got hit. It didn't matter how many BDs were in the shipment, all that seemed to mater was the listed value.

The Canadian Border Services Agency (www.cbsa.gc.ca) says shipments under $20 CAD should go through without incurring any additional charges. Over that there is a handling charge of $5 for standard and $8 for expidited or express. They also tack on the sales taxes applicable to the recipients province.

I guess Amazon.com has found a back door across the border.

I think they consider Amazon a book store... that's why they don't hassle the packages at the border I think.
