Who told you this?
Since the 89 (and 87) series are 120Hz units, they should be able to process a 24Hz signal directly without losing information. (24x5=120)
This in in contrast to a 60Hz set which has to throw out frames since the ratio is not even. (2:5 in a 60Hz set so frames get dropped)
Maybe this is what they were talking about?
