I bought the US Screwhead Edition. The PQ and AQ is very good. I like the movie a lot, but... can't put my finger on it, but for some reason, it seems as if the movie is missing some footage. It had been a while since I watched the flick on the big screen and even had it on laser disc, but still it feels like something was cut from the US Screwhead edition. Any one else have the same thoughts?

Too bad I gave up my laser disks and the player... I could find out for sure what was missing. I am sure the US Screwhead edition is missing something. If anyone know for sure? Let me know... before I go off my nut.

You are probably thinking of the Sci-Fi version which combines both the theater cut and the directors cut. However the PQ is very poor on those added scenes. Basically an extended scene with the little Ash men. Also a longer montage of the combat training. And a longer final battle scene. Also there is a longer love scene as a well.

I think you're right. I remember classifying the movie as a sci-fi in my library once before. Too bad we can't get the sci-fi version on blu.

You're right. Just located the international version blu ray which is 100 minutes and the US edition is only 81 minutes. What's up with that? I think that sucks a big donkey's honker to short change the US version like that. I knew I wasn't going nutz when I noticed the film being shorter than I remembered.

Too bad we don't have any recourse to complain about not having the full movie for the US market. Really does suck!

The Hong Kong MGM R3 disc is still the best version of the movie,(in standard def of coarse), out there IMO.

I do not believe Universal even owns the rights to the international version at this point. Army Of Darkness is a movie whose rights have changed over the years, multiple times.

How long does the shipping usually take?
Don't know if they have more warehouses than one and exaclty where it comes from, but I live in The Netherlands and it usually takes 2 days only....that's why I love them !
They also ship fast when items are "In Stock" and ship before release date and they have nice prices and low shipping cost outside UK. Simply fantastic shop !

Wait a minute, an Internation version on Blu-ray? Where?
Sorry to bump this but the 81 minute version just does NOT CUT IT. Any blu-rays exist other than the US or UK versions? I remember watching my Australian DVD and then this on Blu-ray and noticed vast differences.

The UK Blu-ray release by Optimum (through Universal) contains the international version as a standard definition-only extra, you're probably better off sticking to that DVD of yours.

I'm not getting either, just waiting and hoping that the Hong Kong R3 DVD will get a BD counterpart, now that was a quality release.

Anyone heard anything about this?

http://www.amazon.com/Army-Darkness-...573567&sr=1-38

Is it a re-release, a price reduced version, or something new altogether?

Ok so I hear the UK version is best so can some confirm that this does in fact have the Director's Cut as a standard def extra?

It has already been confirmed that the Region B UK has both versions: US theatrical in HD and International Director's Cut in SD.

The version of the director's cut was licensed by Optimum from MGM International.

Full cut as in the R3 DVD? No, that cut still remains to be issued on BD.
