they did replace it, sorry I said panel and meant tv haha... I did some research at that time on the different panels samsung used and I had an aa01 originally which were the problematic ones made by another company... I requested an sq01 which is made by samsung and as I said it has looked great since... their customer service was good to me and I haven't had any mechanical issues (other than the above) with any of their products I've owned so far (2 lcd tvs and a bd player)... the warranty is offered by samsung directly and not by amazon (where I purchased it) if that matters... I'm kind of on the fence about it but it does seem a little high... according to the link provided by the poster above the warranty should be around 10% of the cost of the tv which would come out to $3250 and I paid about half of that for the tv lol
