Has anyone bought the DLC packs for this game? Also how is the online racing part for this game?

I rented this game from red box for 2 days about 3 months ago when the game first game out and really liked it but just didn't feel the game was worth $59.99.

Now the game is at the $34.96 to $39.99 price range and I'm considering buying it sometime down the road.
