So these are the the movies? The last two Benders Game and Into the Wild Green Yonder have all ready been released on Blu and the Collected Epics on DVD, which includes Bender's Big Score and The Beast With A Billion Backs.
I'm slightly confused, I haven't been paying attention to Sky's piss-poor advertising of the new episodes (and they charge for their cach-up service after they get over a certain date). I think I caught episodes 12 and 13 of season 6. Which I think is Volume 5 in the US and region locked. It was nice to see Futurama in widescreen though. Edit: Volume 5 in the US is the first half of Season 6's 26 episodes. |

Will it not be the same as the Futurama: Volume 5 set in the US (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Futur.../16742/#Review)? Seems silly having the movies when they're already available on blu.

I'm 99% certain that this release is just carrying on the "season" labelling we had from previous boxsets and will be the new batch of episodes, not the movies. We had a boxset of the movies on DVD and Fox didn't label them as a season, just "The Collected Epics". And it's about time!! I was so close to ordering the DVD boxset of this from the US (the blu-rays are region locked). I'm so glad I held out EDIT: This very website lists the years as 2008-2009 which would suggest the movies. However I am positive this is just a mistake, maybe going off the Wikipedia page as well. I've just had a look at Amazon and their using the US Volume 5 cover, so yes - almost absolutely certainly 99% the same as that release. Last edited by Buddy Ackerman; 09-27-2011 at 06:34 PM. |

Fox really needed a kick in the teeth when they started screwing around with this 'volume' crap, first was American Dad then they gave a random chunks of Family Guy episodes and tried to pass them off as seasons.
I know Futurama has gone to another distributor know (I think it's Comedy Central) so maybe we can start again but Futurama releases have been pretty consistent so far with the correct content. Generally unless they offer great value for money they can stick their volumes. On DVD we had the correct amount of episodes in the right order (13), season 2 was right as well with 19, so was season three with 22 and seaon four was right with 18 episodes as well. As Buddy Ackerman said the television order was all over the place but that isn't unusual Fox skipped the opening episode of Firefly! |

The production and home video releases for seasons 1 - 4 were the same. The broadcasts in the US split the production seasons across 5 broadcast runs - which is why the US DVD sets are labelled as 'volumes' so as not to confuse people who remember their being 5 seasons broadcast. The movies were made and released on DVD (and blu-ray for the last two) as just individual movies (and collected up for a boxset). Broadcast-wise these were also split up into 4 parts each and shown as 16 episodes. Thus the movies are the broadcast and production 5th season, but not the home releases as they were never split into episodes. The broadcast and production's sixth season is the new batch of 26 episodes that was split over two years. So the 5th volume home release - and our 5th season home release - was the first year's 13 episodes. The 6th volume is out at the end of the year in the US and will be the rest of the season 6 episodes - which, presumably, will be our season 6 set when that's released. So after this release we will be one set - or 13 episodes - behind the US! And, ironically, will have a season 6 boxset with season 6 episodes in. Until season 7 is released as volumes/seasons 7 and 8... ![]() |

Don't think that this is the movies that are being released as season 5. On Play they've got the artwork which is the same as US Volume 5 release and in the item description it says '13 new episodes.' So hopefully it will the same set that was released in the US last year.

The review here seems to indicate it picks up after the last movie. I only have the two movies that are on blu. I haven't got the two on DVD only. So is that US vol 5 actually season 6? Jeez this is confusing. |
