Edited to Add: People who collect slipcovers do so for the same reason that anyone collects anything: THEY LIKE THEM. To suggest otherwise, especially going so far as to proclaim that they're an unhealthy addiction, is merely a way for a person to try and put themself on a pedestal above others... Ridic.

Any kind of addiction is unhealthy period.

u have to admit some slips are downright nice...they are eye candy is all, and they protect the case

My wife has been to the Blockbuster clearouts 3 times this week, plans on going again on friday. Today... $1 each... she got like 30 movies. I gotta wait til she is done shopping before I order my empty blu-ray cases because of the DVD case some of them came in.

I know you didn't bring it up but anytime someone asks you just have to say I throw them away, they're a waste and go on some rant about those who do like them. If I'm buying a blu, and there are some copies with a slipcover, and some without, I pick up the one with the slipcover. For one, I feel like I'm getting more for my money (dumb I know so don't bother insulting me) and two, some of them are very nice with foil covers, embossing, and the artwork looks crisper since there isn't a layer of plastic over it. I'm not going to go out of my way to get one, but for those who collect them what's the harm?
