Default EuroArts goes HD DVD exclusive?

EuroArts is one of the best classical music productions, which headquatered in Germany. They have been releasing serious and outstanding classical music titles with highest PQ/AQ on DVD. I own their DVDs more than 40. Today, I checked their website and surprisingly found they are releasing Mahler: Symphony No.2 on HD DVD (see the image below) in Feb., which I know is the very first release on HD format.

As a classical music lover, I am soooo sad. I have eagerly wanted to own their titles on blu-ray. I don't understand why they chose HD DVD format when everybody knows blu-ray will be the only HD format shortly.
Sorry for the negative post but wanted let you know so that we can do something.

Yeah, I am hoping that this will be resolved soon.
I know HD has a Strauss release coming up also.

It doesn't go exclusive, i guess they always planned it that way.. but with the circumstances they will maybe change their mind very soon

they are not an industry changer, they are a follower. If they went the wrong way, they will learn. Just wait and it will be Blu eventually.

it would be interesting to know what % of each formats users are also "gamers", and so choose their format based on the game platform they have. My guess is the largest group of HD DVD aficianados are XBox users, and that wouldn't seem like a likely base for classical music, IMHO, whereas Blu users may be more "snooty"? Just a thought.

After reviewing the jpg image, my take is that the writer incorrectly identified the label as EuroArts. It really appears to be OpusArte, a label who has issued the present two HD DVD classical releases. OpusArte will also be releasing Johann Strauss's opera Die Fledermaus as mentioned earlier.

Back to the jpg image; look at the lower left of the label and you see 'arte'. If it were EuroArts the lower left would have a large circle with EuroArts written through the center of the circle. That is their logo.

Trust me that I have been following classical music for high definition and there hasn't been anything save for the two on HD DVD.

As Blu-ray grows and takes on the proportions of now existing DVD's, classical recordings are sure to grow. But even at existing DVD levels it still is not that large. There are not a hell of a lot of us.

Actually, I got the image from their website:
http://www.euroarts.com/artikel/dvd/ (if you don't see the image here, then refresh it a couple of times)

I have some EuroArts titles with different logos than their own one.
Anyway, I agree that the influence should be little to the HD market but I want their titles on Blu-ray so bad!

Hey,

They will figure out thier mistake in time. They likely just got a good deal with HD DUD for now because it's such a lost cause.

I thought guys like Strauss were on tour such a long time ago that anything would be Standard Definition anyway.
