Ancient cultures were not children they were men every bit as smart as men today. The only reason we are more advanced today is because we have more collective knowledge slowly achieved by generations improving on innovations of the previous generations. The claims of this show are that ancient cultures were grunting chimps without the help of aliens is without a doubt a vicious insults to the acheivements of our ancestors and the rise of mankind.

It was an analogy. I never said they were children, I was merely trying to demonstrate the logic behind "alien" technology being a viable theory so nothing about the other guy's statement should be considered "insulting" as you put it. For example, the stones structures at Pumapunku, there is no historic knowledge of there being machinery or tools capable of moving the 800 ton blocks of granite and diorite, that have precise cuts.

So to say the contrary would be an admission that not only did they have machinery and tools to accomplish this that we don't know about and can find no evidence of, but they also didn't have any documentation left behind of how they built this stuff. They just created it from memory. They made all there tools disappear, and they also made all history of who created it disappear. I'm not sold on the whole alien visitation thing but that sounds almost as unbelievable.

I'm not saying that our ancient civilizations didn't build them, but with no indication that they had machinery or technology to accomplish this, it is not illogical to suggest that there was assistance by someone more advanced. Whether that be someone not of this earth or someone extremely advanced on earth that just happened to vanish without a trace.
