Just curious since no one mentioned it (or I am blind) - what WAS the great price back in Febuary that got everyone ordering it?

I like books. I buy books. I even buy nice ones. This is not a nice book; this is a big book. There's a difference.
It is gaudy. I'm going to grab some crayons and paper to make some new covers for each movie.........

The packaging is unfulfilling for these films. It has a "cheap" look to it.

Thanks - I was curious as some of the LD or short term offers don't make it into the price history.

What are the differences, if any, between the two sets?

You lose the 120-page hardback book. However, the content on the disc pages is included in a regular booklet in the alternate set.

Here are some photos of my copy of the other version.

I might get this set. I had the set that came with the hardcover and every disc was scratched.

I guess it really depends on your taste in humor, but I think it is a very reasonable price regardless. Worth it in my opinion for Blazing Saddles alone, arguably one of his best. The reissued 30th anniversary edition of that film alone would cost you nearly the price of this entire set.

I think so, I bought it last year when the price was 21.99. Forgot how good "History of the World" was and it looks great. Never saw "To Be or Not to Be" before and loved it - I now think it's my favorite Brooks film! The films all look good, the only film that I didn't care much for was "The Twelve Chairs"

and you HAVE to see "Blazing Saddles" one of Brooks best

High Anxiety is also great, IMO, a send-up of Hitchcock-type thrillers.
And Silent Movie is a classic... an actual silent movie from 1976, with only one word of dialogue.

I haven't watched all the films in the set yet (I've seen a few before in general just not on Blu-ray), but I must say The 12 Chairs was fantastic. It was the first time I saw it months ago and I didn't know what to expect but man was it a good movie.
