Now, back to the overlooked point about Lisa "Jim's Daughter, and Disney's lackey" Henson producing the movie, and why we might not ACTUALLY be getting "a giant Shia LaBeouf", as we're all picturing.
The Muppets have, over the years, had a certain thematic fondness for oversized man-childs, qv. Big Bird--They could just be trying to work out issues on how to portray Junior Gorg, after the Fraggle Rock movie got stalled again

(But, then again, they've pretty much given up on new stuff, and are now just doing CGI these days, which explains why the Zemeckis-CGI guy is directing, and why Lisa isn't really bothering with the Dark Crystal sequel any much more, either.)

This sounds similar to an obscure children's book I'd seen years ago, but suffice to say the "girl's failed relationship" wasn't in it...

Then again, Lisa Henson (Disney's personal studio Muppets-puppet) is producing, so best not to take your interpretation of "giant Shia" too literally...Could just be doing a creature/CGI voice.
