The people who shop at one of my local Tesco's have a different idea: they just take the little trollies home with them. There's quite commodity market in trolley steel apparently....

Agree with you on meat. Thats the only thing we stick in carrier bags. Disagree on the "rotten old bag" line tho; most supermarkets have put real effort in to designing and refining the concept of the bag for life. Designers like housewives favourite Cath Kidston have produced ranges for Tesco, and profits go to charity. We've had the same five or six for a couple of years now, and they still look brand new. I think you underestimate just how keen the major supermarkets are to get us out of the habit of using plastic bags.

Invest in a decent tote bag. I'm OCD about everything I buy, be it Blu-ray's, DVD's, Magazines or Books, and can't bear creases or the like. I almost always have a tote bag on me anyway, because 9 times out of 10 I don't leave the house without a book, but can appreciate that its not always convenient. You could even buy a Salo one.

They haven't lowered the price of the shopping so now we're essentially paying for the bags again.
The bags are costing the supermarkets significantly more at a wholesale level. They're being taxed to high heaven in an attempt to stop them being used on a mass scale.

Which is a shame. We're supposed to be a progressive, reasonable people. I don't understand why some people are so against the idea of not using as many plastic carrier bags as they have done in the past. Do you simply not understand the environmental impact, or is it a case of laziness prevailing?

If I'm buying on spec I use the pockets in my denim jacket which just happen to be the width of DVD/Blu-ray cases but looks like I've been shoplifting so I put them in after I've left the store.

Otherwise I use my trusty rucksack.

I've noticed that the Co-op don't charge for bag use but have switched to semi-transparent bags so everyone can see what junk food you've been buying. I feel like standing outside and tutting as people come out

Called in to my local today, and they had the new wave of Focus catalogue discs that were released just yesterday in the offer! Lost In Translation, Requiem For A Dream and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind were all in it, as was yesterdays release of Amelie!

Does every store have the same titles in the deal, or is it pot luck? I'm after Sucker Punch and Amelie. The Swansea store has a pretty big blu-ray section, but I've not been in there during this offer. Yet!

picked a few up from the bromley store today:

faculty, the descent (with slipcover), doubt and the frighteners.

Initially had the omen trilogy but when I took it to the till they said it was a mistake so had to change it for something else.

I've seen Sucker Punch in both my local HMV and the two big stores in London.

Has anybody seen the HMV Exclusive Reel Heroes Blu-rays with slipcovers in this offer?

Cause they were still in the 2 for £20 in my stores last week... Wondering if I should go back and see if it's been updated.

They seem to be out of the offer in stores doing 2 for 15 or in the case of us Irish 2 for 18. All the reel heroes were in my local at 11.99 each.

What about the amount of plastic packaging on all other supermarket products?

Tell me about it. I work checkouts at Sainsbury's and last Sunday a guy got really angry because the coupons he wanted to use weren't valid. He was shouting "JUST SCAN THEM!" and in the end I just told him I wasn't dealing with him anymore.

If we start charging for bags I might have to invest in a bullet-proof vest and Kung Fu classes.

My local one does yeah, although a few random titles in that series are in the sale with £10 labels on them instead (I noticed Hot Fuzz and Wanted in this section). The rest are in the 2 for £15 in my local though.

Was in today, the HMV i frequent (Derry) had a fairly good selection, lots to choose from but i ended up coming away with just two on the offer......for now. The Omen/Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.

They do have some decent titles up for selection on the offer but even alot of titles that aren't are going for some great prices - for once HMV aren't a total rip off.

Had a look today - Requiem for a Dream was in the offer but Eternal Sunshine definitely wasn't, it was priced at £18 so it must differ from store to store

@antmumford, @whedon, @adamhopelies thanks for the replies. I'll pop in later and hope they have some.

Unfortunately Hot Fuzz was one of the ones I'm after, it'll suck if it's marked at a tenner. Ah well, maybe I'll be forced to pick up Lost In Translation with that horrific short slip-cover

If you are a fan, how about getting this: http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/scott-p.../10281362.html I got it in mail the other day, outer box is crappy but 2 out of 3 movies are awesome and you get Hot Fuzz for less than a fiver

That's what I was worried about. I'm after Sucker Punch and Amelie (although if Dusk till Dawn is in, then that too). I won't be able to get to HMV before friday.

Popped in my HMV today too many to mention or remember but they had the SONY CE/Classics with the offer, I didn't see everyone but they had at least 3 or 4 from the range.

The Reel Heroes LE's were £10 each. Not sure if any were 2 for 15.
