Angry GLADIATOR "remastered" yellow UPC VERSION, 2-disc set (disc says 2009) PLEASE HELP!!!

earlier today i recieved my copy of gladiator sapphire series (2010 release) when i popped open the case to look at the discs i just so happend to notice, the date on both the movie and special feature discs say 2009..
i saw a copy of disc one gladiator in auction on ebay, looks to have hologramic printing and not white text like mine i wrote the s/he inquiring about the disc if its indeed hologramic and if it says 2010 or if not maybe my colors are all mixed up and in that case im starting to lose it..
if you have the disc with hologramic print and think the picture looks good you may need glasses lol
in order to obtain a copy of the new remastered version for little or nothing and just a few minutes of your time you might wanna click on the link below, all the information is there, oh yeah and just to be crystal clearIF your disc looks like the one in picture you have nothing to worry about

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...d.php?t=273995
oh yeah and if you wanna get some info your time feel free to read the replys that were posted

Vinnie, relax and do a search maybe. This topic has been covered extensively on various web sites.

I could be wrong but I think the date there is meaningless.

There is a difference between the 'good' and the bad discs that is evident on the ink/silkscreen of the disc. One has kind of a metallic sheen and the other is more of a pure paint.

But a better way is to look really close at the hologram printing around the center ring. It should indicate the revision of the disc.

I think there is also a general rule of thumb that Gladiator bought recently in the USA with the yellow UPC is probably the 'good' disc.

Oh also I was reading on digit-al-bits that the back of the cover might contain a hint... look over the Paramount logo in the corner. If it says '2 disc set' that might be the old disc, and if those words are missing it might be the new disc. Not guaranteed, just relaying the info from that blog.

Looking at your cover, it's kind of confusing though because you have the wording (suggests bad disc) but you have the yellow UPC (suggests good disc)

Is there any chance your seller gets their stock from Canada?

Found another blog that got a remastered edition and it has yellow UPC plus it also has the '2 Disc set' wording that yours has...

The same blog said to check the disc code (holographic ring I mentioned before) and that the old disc has a code starting with NA ends with 1, the new disc that code ends with 2

i appreciate the help, there is no coding on the disc. only numbers are original dvd release dates and original master print (2000,2005,2009) and runtimes 155min 171 min, yeah this isnt looking good lol pretty sure i got ****ed on this deal. the seller didnt answer me when i asked him twice if it was bought new or not, but guess i shouldve asked him about the dates anyways.. oh well, thanks again *insert vomiting smiley face here*

Default Inner Ring of laser side should read "R2"

Take out the movie feature disc Disc 1, under the light, take a close look at the inner ring of the laser side, mine read .......181R2.

The most significant identification is "R2", means it is the new transfer.

It's tiny tiny. I being wearing glass, I have to take off the glass to very close distance, but you should be able to see it.

Someone said it already, but yes the tiny tiny inner ring printing is on the NON printed side of the disc. There will be some digital bar code lines and numbers there, you might have to tilt the disc under the light to see it clearly.

It's starting to sound like you bought it used, in which case it's probably the bad disc.

If so you can call the studio, they have a replacement program for bad discs. Takes a few weeks but you'll get it replaced.

So just to recap, Vinnie with the questionable username came here and freaked out about his disc. Turns out he bought the disc from JLTucker and it is a new remastered disc. The case has the yellow UPC, it has the '2 Disc Set' wording over the Paramount logo, and the disc hologram text indicates R2.

Hi, everyone. I am a newbie, yes, and a little late to the game on this thread but I have read the entire thread and I believe I have the right version but I was hoping someone would verify. From what I've read, here is why I think it is remastered (U.S. version):

- It has a yellow UPC Code
- The underside of Disc 1 reads NA13081b1R2
- The copyright date on the sleeve and the case reads 2010.

However, the discs are light colored. And it says "2 disc set" on the case (not on the sleeve though).

If anyone could give me the "YES IT'S THE REMASTERED VERSION", I could rest much easier.

Thanks is advance
